Wedding Forum - So happy - we're married :) **update** some...

Hey ladies - just a quick hello before my hot date with my new husband tonight!

We had a fantastic day, I got up and was cool, calm and collected, and that remained the trend for the rest of the day! Couple of minor hiccups - first one being when I went to get a shower and got clonked on the head by the shower head falling off the riser rail, and it then refusing to stay on there!

Had everyone running round me in the morning getting hair and nails all sorted and I remained so calm throughout - but is was so great to feel the excitement of the day!

The rain stopped about an hour before we needed to leave and the sun was shining when we set off. The ride to the church in the excalibur limo was great, we had so many people pointing and taking pictures along the way!

The church ceremony was so fast! I had people thinking I had a fit of the giggles because I was grinning so much through my vows I could hardly get the words out lol. Stee thought I looked beautiful, and I was so glad he liked my dress as much as me! I did have a bit of a coughing fit during the signing of the register (cold hadn't gone completely), but the photographers were great and kept handing me a glass of water! Before I had time to blink it was all over and we were walking back out of the church!

Photos were all sorted out very quickly and efficiently, though my dress did get trodden on and dirtied up quite a bit since the ground was still quite wet, but I quickly gave up worrying about it!

Our reception couldn't have been better, despite a bit of a mix up with the soup type, but everything was so yummy anyway that it made no difference. Everyone invited turned up, so we had a full house too. The speeches were very emotional - but nothing more emotional than when we gave my daughters their copies of their change of name deeds, which made my eldest cry with happiness - and set everyone in the room crying, including the photographer!

We had sparklers after the meal while the room was turned round and they went down so well with everyone, adults and children, and we got some fantastic photos from that.

We danced and drank the night away, and after the DJ left, continued to drink and chat with those who remained - and finally headed on up to bed a little after 2am!

We had a great day, and were so pleased with how everything went, I had so many compliments about everything, from my dress all the way through to how the whole day had run so smoothly that they thought I had brought in a professional to help!

I'm off out with my gorgeous husband now, but will get some photos on as soon as our guests manage to get them on to facebook lol.

aw sounds like such a great day and everything went well, i think everyones dress gets a bit messy, my friends did aswell on her wedding day, the photographers can work their magic on that, well done u on being so calm aswell, i would like to hope i would be the same but i think i might just be a bit more panicky! lol i love the idea of giving the children their change of name deeds, brings the whole family together, im hoping i can change my 2 eldests names if their biological father will accept it! congrats on such a lovely day and cant wait to see some pics! nice to hear all this planning we all do comes together nicely! x

Thanks to you all - still waiting on some more pics, hardly had any put on fb yet! And I'm not going anywhere any time soon, will still be around for a while yet!

We've been told today that my auntie should be able to give us her wedding present by the end of the month - £400 towards a honeymoon! And Steve's parents have offered similar, so we with the cash that we were given as well, we will be able to get our honeymoon at some point after all :)
