if u have a aisle to walk down there is more of a wow look at her dress than in a registry office any 1 else feel same

im getting married for the 1st time in Oldway Mansion which is a registry office in Devon and i cant wait.
to be honest, im not that bothered about having an isle to walk down - as long as i leave the room on the arm of my other half as his wife. people will have lots of opportunity to admire your dress - try not to think about missing out on a aisle it just gives the nerves nerves longer to build up!

    oh this is a shame!!

I am getting married in a hotel in a civil ceremony and I wont have the big aisle you would in a church but I will have some sort of aisle.

I think i would be upset if I didnt have an aisle at all.

i always imagined walking down the Aisle - one bridesmaid 1st, then another one, then me and my dad and them my Cheif BM behind me making sure my dress is ok.

I would be gutted by that too - I've got a really short aisle in our venue and I was stressing the other night that the door to the room wont shut, so people will see me before hand - I want the music to start playing and then the door to open and then there I am!!

Going to the venue tonight so going to check out the door situation!

I have a short aisle to walk up, and am already feeling extreamly nervous about it :( The idea of me tripping up, which knowing me is highly likely, or crying or something with all those eyes looking at me!!! arg

I've got a bloody big long aisle to walk up - it's too long - and the chances are I'll trip at least once but like you say, it is still an aisle all the same.

I'm with Joanne - the main thing is you'll be getting married to the man you love! And when you meet him there you'll still get that look of awe from him when he see's you and that's the important one isnt it! x

i cant believe they wont allow pics. Id say the same to guests to snap away. Just keep thinking that its only an aisle, the point is the WEDDING itself and thats all that matters. You will still leave with H2B on your arm like the rest of us and thats whats important.

My friend got married in the registry office and she had an aisle to walk down. They just put the chairs either side to make one. Are you sure they can't do that for you?

Sounds like far too many rules and regulations for my liking.... would be tempted to bail on that registry office and find somewhere else. Its your day and you should have the ceremony you want, not meet H2B outside the door, and if you want to walk in on dads arm why not? What difference does it make what day of the week it is??? These sort of petty rules make me so cross. Its supposed to be a celebration not something tied up so much in red tape that its in danger of choking itself. And no photos? Crazy. I'm lucky, lovely registry office, olde-worlde, nice aisle to walk up, can have photos and walk up on whoevers arm I want and meet H2B by the registrar so he can see me walk up the aisle. If ours can do it, why cant everyone elses??? Bah. xx

I have a church without a proper aisle lol it got bombed in the war apparently, and they rebuilt it so the entrance is about half way down the aisle, not sure how thats going to work out! x

I rejected a venue because it didn't have an aisle, I must admit. It's only a tiny part of the day though, and you'll be so excited you'll barely even notice! xx
