Me and H2b went and had a random look at wedding rings today. We'd already decided upon a budget of up to £1000 each so we had plenty of scope to play with.
Went into Shiptons jewellers as i'd had my eye on a couple of rings in there on previous shopping trips. However, when i tried them on with my engagement ring, they got lost and you couldn't even see the wedding band under my engagement band - so the assistant was explaining that i'd probably have to go down the bespoke route, and get one made - which was fine as we had a good budget, but the rings i'd tried on already where 765 and 835 each :-/ so i was worried that it would blow the £1000 budget!
Anyway, the shop which my h2b bought my engagement ring from had closed down, but we found out 2day that it had re opened, so we went for a look around in there, and as this shop is a privately owned shop, they make all their rings from scratch and just have display models for style.
Asked the assistant what would be the best ring shape to match my engagement ring, as i wanted them to be flat on my finger. (my engagement ring has no pertruding stones because of my job, so it's got two strips of diamonds and is a flat cut ring) The assistant pulls out a ring and i try it on and it fits perfectly with my engagement ring :D he takes my details to get a price on the gold so he can make it.
Later on got a call from him - stomach hits the floor moment as i was expecting around the 800-900 mark - £450 BARGIN!! thats for 18ct white gold as well to match my engagement ring! whoop!
So now we're going to save a little money, get my h2b's grandfathers wedding ring and take them both down and get them ordered. We can pay in installments as well so it covers the cost between now and the wedding!

wow what a good bargain! mine and h2bs rings only cost £50 together lol but we're buying more expensive ones in a few fews when we've had chance to save up so will defo look in to having one made! Xxx
