im so mad,our friend is in a local band and they are really good so we asked how much he d charge to play at our wedding,he said because we were friends they d do it for £150.when we came to book them he d left band and his brother in law[lead singer] said it would now be £500 for an hour and half.i said no we d been told less and wasnt paying that.he said has it had been agreed for £150 he d honour that but could we pay £200 instead and if we was feeling generous on day give a little extra.so for the last 10 month they v been booked,but now an agent in america ios interested in them and they v been making comments about how good they are[which they are] and what a bargain we v got.today just got an email from him saying he cant do our wedding anymore,no explanation,thats it.im so annoyed cos im sure if we were paying £500 thay d still be able to do it.x

i know,i was getting annoyed at them saying i was getting a bargain anyway,i personally think £500 for an hour and half local band is too much,and that £200 was plenty.just really liked the band and the other band we liked is now booked.its the short notice thats annoyed me but like you said its better now than on the day.we have a dj booked so dont really need a band,was just that extra touch.x

that is a lot of money and i wouldnt pay for that short a time!
my dad is in a few bands and his duo are doing a hour and half at my wedding but the girl wants £100 for that time. and we hae said we arent paying it. i dont even get paid that a day! now she is saying she has to travel and i made the point that you dont get paid for travelling.
so annoying people feel they can rip brides off! xx

i know.its a joke like u said most people dont make that in a day.h2b thinks we should just leave it we arent getting married till 3.45 so dont really need a band dj will be fine.just fe dup of things going wrong.my mum advised me 2 try local college as they av music students who will play for free but not sure.x

that is a good idea. they are normally desperate to become known and play infront of people. you can always listen to them first xx

as soon as you mention word wedding they add on few £100 the band we wanted quoted £500 to me for wedding but when my mum rang them for price on basic family party they quoted £250 so lied there not much they can do about it on the night
