So back at the beginning of august me and my h2b were having a nice night in when the people who live below us started arguing which then turned into him going absoloutly MAD and smashing the place up and then beating his gf up!
The police were called and arrested him but then another police car turned up and they pretty much kicked in OUR front door ! (its a 3 story house but they have the ground floor and there entrance is round the back of the property!) Thing is they dint even bother saying sorry!! just walked off and now weve been left with a massive crack above the handle, a lovely big crack running down the inside of the door above and below lock & scuff marks up front panel from where they kicked it! Its not even safe at all! and now the lock doesnt catch properly at times!
I reported it straight away to our letting agency the next day (as it happened at 9pm) and since then the police have pretty much been a pain in the a*** Its been around 10 weeks and still not had door fixed!
Theyve been given my detailed account of what happened & the letting agency have taken photos and had a quote sent to them for damages!
Then the police said that no-one recorded that ever happening in their report of what happened on that night (conviently .. whos going to admit to damaging the wrong door!) but they said they would investigate it and get back to us...
Weeks then passed and we heard nothing!
The letting agents have been chasing them up non stop ringing them a few times a week trying to get hol of someone but seems no one wants to sort it
Now the police have turned around and basically said theyve done "nothing wrong" and pretty much saying it wasnt them!
They orginally told our letting agency they had no contractors ...NOW they do and want to send one over to survey our door!
ARGGG just taking the P**** now they really are! around 10 weeks later and STLL no progress! it'll be bloody xmas before they bother to do owt! Im fuming! Ive already sent in a complaint ...suprise suprise no-one got back to me!
What else can i do? its pretty discgusting how its been handled! Sure if it was being filmed like all these cops & camera they would of sorted it there and then like they do to make themselves look good... argggg :(

We had a similar experience to you, except it was the people above us who caused the trouble, they broke our gate off its hinges, we never complained as it wasn't too much of a bother for us but I know what you mean, I'm sorry you are going through this stress big hugs

Go to your local paper!! Guarantees they will take notice then. Honestly, you have tried everything to be nice about it so its what they deserve. My ex friend (she dumped me cos shes loopy) went to the paper cos the baby milk they bought was 3 months past its sell by date and tesco didnt even say sorry. They ended up getting some sort of compensation. But regeardless, I am sure all you want is your door fixed so I would call the local paper and disgrace your local police for being tw4ts

OMG what a disgrace! You pay council tax for them and they don't help you at the best of times & now that they have left u ina vulnerable position instead of fixing the issue n then sorting out who did or didn't do it they are happy to leave u at risk?!?

Contact your local MP hun, letter or appointment - it's amazing what they can actually get done for you! Do bear in mind if you do this by letter that it could take a while for anyone to get back to you though!

yeah i agree with pennieb in fact do the mp, papers and a official complaint. if they do a proper investigation then they can trace who was at the flats that night. just be aware that they will lie to make them look good. dont want to make you upset any more here as we know what its like went through similar a few years ago, but be prepared.

have u got any other neighbours in ur block that r witness to the police kicking ur door in or heard them do it and r willing to make a statement? also i would speak to your local mp and local paper, always seems like things get done ater u have been to the papers! good luck with it all x
