Ladies, these ideas are racking up! Loving it!! Although we wernt going full out, I think its hard not too! I mean, it wont look tacky, but we could probably use the theme throughout the wedding. Our reception is held in the ramblers bar- which is like a low beemed barn, its beautiful...I was thinking, I could make this tastefully into the seven dwarfs cottage...but how???xxx

Gardencenters have them - may not be exact replicas of the Disney dwarves but certainly big gnomes.
    I do love gnomes :-)

Don't know if this has already been mentioned but your cake topper could be a figure of snow white and the prince and the dwarves could be scattered across the tiers of the cake. Snow white and the dwarves go for about £7 on ebay and the prince a tad less - so quite reasonably priced!

Aha, good idea! I could get plain stone ones then paint them, and can always use them in my garden after the wedding lol!

Yes, we are hoping for a snow white and prince charming cake topper, just to find a nicely priced one..otherwise yes, figures would be a good option. We are having cupcakes, so the dwarves would have to sit on the stands tiers :) xxx

I like the idea of the Buffet table. We are doing one instead of favors, and having a bowl full of those lttle favor bags on the table so that people can choose themselves which sweets they want and can take them home if they want. :)

Looking for ideas on how to dress my reception room (a walkers bar/pub, low beems etc) to make it look like the dwarfs cottage??

    Ideas Ive had so far:

Obviously have to have the dwarfs, maybe cardboard cut outs, or garden gnomes painted
Piles of crockery- to tie in with the whistle while you work
Their beds with their names on- although not sure where to use them
Lots of birds and woodland creatures

In my venue they have twigs permanently attached in the ceiling (on tbe wooden beams) and entwined fairy lights - that's of course hard to recreate but maybe you can (apart from your centerpieces) put twigs up to make it forresty?
Also - every enchanted forrest with cute woodland creatures needs toadstools :-)

For the beds maybe do just the head boards against the wall doesn't need to be the full bed. U cud get one of those trees in pots and tie apples to it?

And have you already got the props?

You could make from felt ir foam a red bow, an apple, a mirror, a dwarves hat.... etc. and glue it to a long kebab skewer. Perfect photoprops! Maybe even the queens crown or all the dwarves names aswell?

Thank you! That's how I am doing my place card holders (moustaches and lips) - and for photo props I'd like to throw in heart shaped and 50s shaped glasses. I am very familiar with felt crafting but not sure if I fancy drawing from a stencil for around 80 people times two - and cutting it all out. You need to layers to make it sturdy. Stitching it and filling it with a little bit of polyester fiberfill gives it a sweet 3D touch but gluing the 2 layers will give it enough sturdiness and is much quicker. I am much more partial to felt than to thick foam (have no idea how precise I could cut this).

Oh Oh Oh Kimmie I had such a light bulb moment in my car yesterday!
I was listening to my Now That's What I Call Disney Cd (Judge me if you will) and the song 'someday my prince will come' from Snow White and I though it would make a fantastic first dance that could include the whole wedding party.
At the start it's snow white telling the dwarves about her prince charming, so the dwarfes are asking the questoions and the bits between is snow white:-

Well, once there was a princess
    Was the princess you?
    And she fell in love
    Was it hard to do?
it was very easy, anyone could see that the prince was charming, the only one for me
    Was he strong and handsome?
    Was he big and tall?
There's nobody like him anywhere at all
Did he say he loved ya?
    Did he steal a kiss?

He was so romantic, I could not resist

    And then the song begins.
So my big idea is that this should be your first dance!
So obv you play the part of snow wite, by miming the speaking part she does, then the wedding barty, so groom's men/bridesmaids mime the questions to you, whilst h2b could be doing funny things like when they ask is big and strong, h2b could pretend to be tall and strong! And then when the actual song starts the whole wedding party could dance, in my mind you're waltzing lol!

I know it's totally out there, but honestly if you listen to it on utube, you will see what I mean, it would be so cute lol!

Change of plan...again! We are going to have the apple of my eye candles like sammy posted...I showed h2b them, because I really wanted more of an apple figure on the tables, because they look really quirky and cute...so he likes these and I have someone looking if they can supply them to me who are getting back to me on monday.

Off to staples later to get the card for our invites, and just bought our diamantes and ribbon off ebay :D Excited!!

H2b also likes the crystal tree's, and thinks we should maybe use them for all the centerpeices rather than having both candleabras and crystal tree's, he also likes your idea of having little apples hanging off them LMB :) xx

I was just reading Snow White to my boy (Disney book) and had to think of you ofc. I can't remember anymore if I already said this - have you considered having a red bow as a hair piece with a birdcage veil coming down? On typical snow white hair ofc -I put a link on your wall with a great tutorial on how to achieve Snow Whites look.

And while reading the book I realised how much my mothers wedding dress resembled snow whites dress and her hair was also quite reminiscent.

Not neccesarily - I have long hair and will have a style a bit similar to this and it will be pinned down to a faux bob. But admittedly some vintage hair styling skills are needed for that. But it's easily possible!
