    Hiya ladies,
I have 40-45 day guests for my wedding and am wondering how many i should put at each table?
The tables that the venue have are oval shaped and fit ten to a table so the manager suggested having four tables in total but im thinkin thats going to look quite bare in the room!

Do you think its better to have maybe six at each table which means around 7 tables?
Havn't even thought about a top table...

Just a thought are you able to go to the added expense of having more tables as you would have to have more table decorations if you can then go for it !! but without seeing your venue size its hard to give advice i would ask to go back and see what it would look like with 7 tables set up for six people at each just encase the table's look to big for the amount of people around them x

The less tables you have, the less you need to spend on centrepieces!

I just wnat it to look good and can spare extra pennies for decorations as the centerpieces are free with venue.

It depends....mi think six on a table meant for ten would look too spaced out, maybe....

You don't want guests to feel they are miles away from each other...see if you can get the venue to show you a mock set up so you can gauge. We are having a similar sized wedding breakfast and did have the same thought, but when we saw the room laid out it didn't look odd at all.

Is there any option of having long tables joined together? I know this is less formal but have been to small weddings and it works.

we have 48 and 10 of which are on the top table. We were advised to put 8ish on a table to fill the room out.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
    start weight 10st 1.5 lbs
    weight now 8st 4.5 lbs
total loss to date: 24.5 lbs now need to maintain!

Good idea folks, will ask to see tables set up and then can decide from then.
Maybe 8 at a table would look better than 6 and not as bare!

and spread them out. Also, if you have a photo table or sweet buffet like us then this takes up a lot of space, plus your cake table. I am sure it will all be fine.

my advice would be to work out your guests, are they couples/ families? If you have 6 on a table does this work or would you have odd numbers. single guests, families of 3 or 5 etc etc. I was going to have all 10s and 12s but ended up with 1 of 9 coz of who would be sat with who. families and friends with people they know/ similar age etc.

Just a thought as just saying all tables of 6 or 8 might not be the best way to work it out.

Yeah my other advice would be to write all the names on bits of paper with bluetac and get a large piece of card with tables drawn on it and then move them around until you have the best layout.

It takes time and is prob one of the hardest parts especially if you have difficult people to put together
    good luck

I bought my centrepieces vases without thinking how many I would actually need, so had a minor panic there wouldn't be enough! But we have approx 48, 6 on the top table, the rest spread across 6 guest tables. I wanted to get away with 5, but the groups of people we have coming, I didn't want to break up sets of friends too much. And it works out perfect for the number of vases I have!! We have one table of 5, the rest are 6 or 8 I think xx

Our venue is normally 10 to a table but im seating 8 as it gives everyone a bit more room. I think 6 would be a bit too sparse. If you get the centre pieces included i would go for it. x
