I'm planning a small wedding for roughly 40 guests (some children) and would like ideas of how to do this without doing a registry office and pub/restaurant. We planning on may 2018 and I'd love outdoors but will settle for a marquee or similar to accommodate the English weather. We don't want to book somewhere huge and to feel out of place in it (we will have the same guests for the ceremony and evening reception). We'd love some recommendations for somewhere in the East Midlands if anyone can help or just general suggestions as we are struggling to find a suitable location. We aren't into anything too formal and just want small and intimate and somewhere the children can run around without fear we are annoying anyone. Budget is important, with 2 small children we just can't justify blowing a huge amount on one day (most of the budget will be going on a nice family honeymoon). If we could have a bbq instead of a sit down meal that would be perfect. *Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place*

what about searching for some cute country houses / bnbs. some are gorgeous and can only accomodate a small number of guests x

Look at br00ksby h@ll has a small pretty church and lovely venue for small wedding breakfast - not sure where you are and what exactly you are looking for? Xx
What I like about this venue is you can have it exclusive you can bring in your own catering and basically do what you want, pretty church, lovely house and grounds but was too far for us from west mids

Thank you. How do I unrestrict my profile? Brooksby hall isn't that far away. I've actually been for a large wedding so didn't realise they did small ones too.
UNRESTRICTING YOUR PROFILE: If you want to 'make friends' with fellow members, you will need to 'unrestrict' your profile. You will also need to do this so fellow members can leave helpful links on your wall (as no links are allowed on the forum). How to unrestrict your profile- 1. Go to ‘My wedding’ 2. Scroll down to ‘my details’ 3. Once you have clicked on ‘my details’, scroll down again 4. At the end of this section there will be a drop down box next to ‘privacy settings’ under ‘wall permissions’ 5. Click on the drop down box and select public – people can now post links on your wall and befriend you!
