    Hello,
I am very recently engagent (just under 2 weeks) and me and my fiancee have decided on a small affair with just close family and friends totalling maybe 15 - 20 people max. I really need some inspiration, we are quite open to all locations and have also spoke about going abroad but there is just so much choice!!

    Please help me :-)

    Thanks
    Sam x

Vegas baby! But I would say that...No, in all seriousness, you and your h2b need to have a sit down and talk about what you both want - how you would feel if you did get married abroad and some of your nearest and dearest wouldn't be able to make it etc.
We compromised and have the wedding in Vegas THEN a non-religous blessing in our local park, followed by a party in a local restaurant a month afterwards.
It worked out MUCH cheaper this way round for us and for us we didn't have to worry about elderly grandparents not being able to make it as neither of us have any anymore. But these are all things you should bear in mind.

A friend of mine got marrie din December last year at the local town hall then we all went to a local fave restaurant of ours and had lovely food and some toasts and ate cupcakes that her friends had made. Her friends had also decorated the venue, unbeknown to her, which was lovely. There were about 18 of us in all and it was so perfect and intimate and full of love.

Vegas do fab weddings! my cousin got married there 2010 in the Excalibur hotel! & was brilliant... was 18 at the time & pregnant but was a good day.

Like little kettle says, speak to your other half and go through different options of what you both want, work out who you want to be there with you & see where it leads you :)

    That all sounds lovely

Vegas was mentioned in one of our initial conversations. I know it sounds selfish but we do not want to be paying for a load of people to come to our wedding and be paying for it in years to come!! Would you be able to send me details of your Vegas wedding?

    xx

    Congrats on your engagement hun!

Before you and H2B decide on a venue I suggest you both sit down and discuss a budget as this will have a huge bearing on where and when you get married and the style of what you have. :D

No probs - will pop the details on your wall in a bit. Just to say...we didn;t pay for anyone to come to Vegas - we made it clear from the start that we couldn't do that. I was amazed that we had the number of people we had come out, it was awesome. There were 10 of us in total.
My advice if you're getting married abroad, is do your research. Get a quote from one company then get another from somewhere else - get it in writing. We found that by doing that they price matched each other. Then when I went online and found evidence that we could do it ourselves for less, they then price matched that! I managed to save us about £250 by putting in that time - so worth it.

We had a small wedding (around 20 of us) and decided to get married away from home. We invited just close family and all travelled up to Gretna Green. There's so many great venues up there and so much history. They are also used to catering for smaller weddings as well as bigger ones.

We decided to go there as there was a lot more choice within our budget - and it also meant that guests were more likely to attend as they didn't have to save up to go abroad.
