This seemed the most appropriate title to put this under but......

I'm really suffering with a bad sleeping pattern at the moment and I'm not sure if it's nerves unconsciously kicking in with 2 weeks to go (although it did suddenly hit me last week that I'm getting married in 2 weeks, argh!) but I'm constantly waking up regularly throughout the night and when I do sleep I'm having nightmares, sometimes wedding related but not always. Any tips to help with this? If I'm going to have this until the wedding, I'm going to be a zombie!

I had this problem with stress from work.. I bought the purple kalms tablets which are purely herbal tablets and I slept like a baby right through the night! They're not super cheap but maybe worth a try I know how frustrating it is waking every hour!

SOme of my colleagues take the sleep aid from 800ts, they say it works wonders. MOst of them are only antihistamines though.

Have you tried a hot bath and glass of warm milk before bed
an hour and half before no work /wedding stuff
no lying reading in bed or watching TV keep bed for sleep.
make sure room dark and ur comfy not hot or cold
leave window open if possible for fresh air

Just a few things I k ow people have tried when having trouble sleeping

    Hope it helps

Ownandthebutterfly I know what you mean about being a zombie. my sleep pattern has gone out the window but that's due to the kids suddenly waking every night... its awful im falling asleep in the day and don't want this for the wedding

Thanks for the ideas everyone! I've tried the more therapeutic route playing the piano/recorder etc. which normally works when I'm stressed but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll try your other ideas now, thanks!

I wish I had a reason for the lack of sleeping, I think it's the waiting and boredom for the big day. I'm a teacher and now we've had the end of term, I've not doing anything during the day which means I'm not as tired at night and results in me having broken patterns :/

Yeah and you can get bath salts in sleep therapy ranges too .. Or you can try Horlicks that is meant to aid sleep, there's lots of random things to try x

Have you tried K&lm$ night time tablets? They really work for me when I have periods of not sleeping well. They are a hurble natrual remedie. oh and no cafeen/really sugary drinks after 7:00, and eating no later the 8:00. Hope this helps xx

Try the sleep aid from800ts, my colleague uses it for night shifts, she says it is brilliant, and when she has none she will take an antihistamine, but worth a shot. I think they are better than the k@lms.

It might be because you're not doing as much in the day now school has finished. I would try going out for a walk (especially as the weather is supposed to be pretty reasinable this weekend) in an attempt to tire you out a bit.

I had annual leave the other week and spent the first part catching up on sleep because I was tired from work and then the second part not sleeping because we weren't doing lots in the day. X

Thanks Kirsty - we've been trying to keep ourselves occupied and walks are good as we have a puppy so that's easy enough with her. I think it's the lack of nothing to do really. I went through our entire collection of decor and thank you gifts today which helped, the excitement took over today which was good! x

I think you're right OATB. When I have time off work and am out of a normal routine I also find it hard to sleep. I get quite restless just being sat around doing nothing so definitely try and keep yourself busy if you can! xx
