Hello all, just looking for a bit of advice with regards to skin (facial) care. I'm a bit lazy when it comes to looking after my skin but I want to start really looking after it now in preparation for the big day! I know to exfoliate, cleanse, tone and moisturise but I don't really know what products I should be using and am probably using the wrong ones currently! My skin is quite greasy. I am looking for something affordable (i.e. something you can pick up in the supermarket). Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I only ever used to wash my face in water and then use something like 0l@y, until I got introduced to L!z 3@rl3. I use the clense and polish daily and then use their superskin mousturiser, but someone young like you can use their daily one. My skin has improved no end since using it, I hardly ever get the big Bobby Brewer spots anymore and if I do get a spot it is cleared really quickly. I also had a couple of dry patches on my face, this has also cleared up since using it. I would highly recommend it.

    Hi Flossie,

Take a look a C@r0lin3 H!rons blog, she is amazing about all things to do with skin. She had cheat sheets to the right hand side of the page that include routines, I followed her advice and recommendations before my wedding and my MUA commented on how smooth and clear my skin was so it clearly worked!

I use elem1s products which are pricey but I really like them and they last ages so the cost sort of evens out. Definitely speak to someone at a counter about skincare, I have sensitive dry skin but since I started using elem1s I very rarely get flakey patches.

Flossie I've been thinking the same. Want to start a new regime now for wedding. It's my birthday next month so thinking on asking for products. I've tried Derm@log1c@ before but found it too harsh for my skin. Also tried @rk but didn't think much of it. I think I'm gonna try the l1z e@rle but we don't have anywhere here supplies it so need to order online

All a bit expensive for my budget! I have heard L1z e@rl3 is good but I can't spend that much money on it :/ I was thinking more of a n!ve@, s1mpl3, g@rni3r kind of range lol xx

LE is well worth the money, and the cleanse and polish lasts, I can get three months out of it and it's £15, I get it half price through a friend though.

My birthday is approaching too so I could ask for something like that for my birthday, however I couldn't justify the costs to then re-purchase when that batch runs out lol. I might just pop into a supermarket or b00ts and see what they have in there.

Isn't this one supposed to be quite good?

I really like the 5t Iv3s apricot scrub for exfoliating. It smells so yummy too!

I've recently been introduced to M@ry K@y but I'm as yet undecided on it - probably because I don't use it every day as I'm still trying to get rid of other products lol. X

Use products specially for oily skin if that's your skin type and use day and night cream. Don't over cleanse though. Be gentle with your skin x

I use cl1n1qu3. I always try and stock up when HOF have it on offer. It's not the cheapest but it lasts a quite a while, getting it on offer helps as well. A lot of the time they give away free travel size tubes when you buy as well so that's always helpful.

I always get tonnes of freebies from C1@r!n5, I have a drawer full of amazing products I got"on gift" or just as a freebie.

I also stock up when HoF have their beauty promo but 800t5 is also good when they have their 10% off premium beauty promos plus you get all those points on the@dv@nt@g3 c@rd. Last time I bought there I got something like £15 worth of points because there was a points offer plus I had my points booster vouchers.

Different things work for different people, so you might need to try different things. I would go to the local pharmacy and try something new, then when it runs out if you're not happy with it try something different. I'm using a combination of a Garni3r cleanser and exfoliant and a N3utr0g3na rapid action lotion for the spots I do get.

coconut oil... i seriously swear by it and I'm a beauty therapist... i love my facial products but lately i was told to try using coconut oil for make up removal, moisturiser and a make up primer, BEST decision i ever made, i don't have nearly half the blemishes i had, my spots have cleared up bar one which is now clearing, it doesn't leave my face shiny but makes it SO SO smooth, i have even used it on my hair and nails and my hair is so soft and growing so thick, my nails are growing faster. (I'm not advertising any products or brands here, just giving advice) It is also able to be used anywhere else on the body, can reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks - because its so organic, it doesn't dry skin - other than an exfoliator, thats the only product i now use! xxx

Not heard about coconut oil before Becca. will have to give it a try.

I use a cl1n1que routine but it does sting when I have to rebuy so don't use it daily like I should. just when my skin needs looking after.
Normally I just use the 5t. 1ves apricot scrub as an exfoliator and natural soap.

I just wash with water and use g@rni3r day/night cream religiously every morning and every night.

I don't suffer with spots at all and my skin is normal

I may have to try coconut oil and see.... Where do you get it from??

I've had an absolute face explosion over the weekend!!!

Went to bed Friday night fresh faced woke up Saturday morning like an Acne covered 13 yo girl I was mortified!

Quick trip to the supermarket 5 hours away from home resultrd in the purchase of some s1mpl3s skincare that my sister reccommended so hopefully that gets this sudden outbreak under control!! If not things are going to get serious / radical!

I'm a big lover of 7cp if matters don't improve drastic measures will be recruited!!
