Ok so I know as the bride; It is generally recommended that I have a hair and make up trial which I am going to do once I find someone I like. My sister however keeps saying that she needs one and my mum kind of agrees with her in the fact that she said yow want everyone to look good on the day as my moh/bm may not suit the hair style they have on the day.
I understand where she's coming from but do bridesmaid really need trials as most places I've seen are £40-50 for a trial for bm's e.t.c which means it will be another £80-100 on top of budget.
I'm a bit annoyed as I think I am paying for enough; if it hasn't been for my granddad then I would have paid for their dresses as well.

I've never had a trial as a BM and I'm not arranging trials for mine - I told them straight away that if they want a trial then they're to pay for it themselves.

Yeah I'd suggested that to my mum but all she says is talk to some hair stylists and see what they say... I've already spent about £200 between them on gifts and accessories e.t.c. I'm happy to pay for their hair and make up if they want it on the day and I would have paid for their dresses if my late granddad hadn't.

When I was a bridesmaid I never had a hair or makeup trial and my bridesmaids never had one either. It's expensive, if she wants one she can pay for it x

i have told my girls i will pay for hair and make up on the day but if they want trials then they need to pay for their own xx

I'm not doing trials for mine as there are a lot of them, and I don't have a particular style in mind for them, so they can do whatever they're happy with. My SIL did, but only for the other two bridesmaids, as I couldn't afford another trip away.

I must admit I have had my sister (chief bridesmaid) have hair and make up trials but only because i want to make sure she is truly comfortable on the day as i do not want any moaning or stress on the day itself. I am also having 3 other bm's (my nieces so are young) and the 14 year old is saying she doesn't like the hairstyle even though she helped choose it! So that's annoyed me cuz she now wants a trial but I'm ignoring it for now and waiting for her mum to say something x

I agree with everyone else and if she wants a trial then she should pay for it, they are very expensive and although I know you want everyone to look nice and feel comfortable on the day like you have said you are spending a lot of money on them as it is. Maybe suggest that she has her hair done just after yours on the day so that if she doesn't like it there is still time for it to be changed?

I've got our hair and makeup sorted but I asked if they can pay for their own shoes and hair trial (only £18.50) but my2bms have been very good to me. Every time I meet up with one of them and we go for a hot chocolate somewhere say pays for mine and always says 'you've bought me a dress, I'll get them'
I probably wouldn't be so bothered about them having hair and makeup done but I can be a bit OCD at times and like everything the same so I'm happy to pay for them.

I agree with how you are feeling here. I think I am going to ask my sisters to pay for their own trials..I mean I'm buying them dresses, shoes, jewels..it all adds up.
