Hi ladies as some of you might now me and my sister have be arguing loads over the past few months about bridesmaid dresses

Well two weeks ago i told martyn the wedding was off and that i cant handle doing it with her screaming and not liking any thing. She hates our colours (wont wear the colours) She hates her dress (said it made her look like a granny) She said she doesnt like where we are getting married( town hall hasnt even seen inside) and She hates the suits (going to be cream jacket and black trousers).
I rang her in tears and told her she needs to stop as she is doing my head in. I told her she couldnt be a bridesmaid if she carried on like this. But she is not telling me all this she is telling my MOH. My MOH tells me what she is saying.

I was talking to my MOH last night and she has been b!tching again. She said she is not bein a bridesmaid if she doesnt get to choose her dress. She has sent over two dresses and they are not nice one is a coloured wedding dress the other i wont even put some one i hate in. It was that bad.

I am so anoyed as she is not telling me these things. I have told her if she has a problem with the dresses then speak to me i might be able to sort this out. But she isnt she is going behind my back.

I am so angry. I am so tempted to say dont bother being a bridesmaid and wear what ever dress you like.

Sounds like a spolit little madam to me..

Either she wears the dress or isn't a bridesmaid. And I'm usually saying that BMs should be happy... but I think she will never be happy.

i like theses dresses, its just a shame they didnt do them in baby pink lol.
as for your sister, tell her its your wedding so you get to decide the dresses and if she doesnt like it she doesnt have to be a bridesmaid x

how old is she? i would just phone her and say you are fed up of hearing that she doesnt like the dress or colour and have enough stress trying to plan the wedding and she has 2 choices. 1- she doesnt moan and wears what she is told or 2- she isnt a bridesmaid! i wouldnt have people telling me what they will and wont wear on my wedding day and neither should you.

that in it self is hard! does she not understand that?! i have 2 bm, they are both short size 12/14 but different shapes and it was a nightmare trying to find a dress that suited them both.

give her a call and ask her straight how she feel about the dress as you have heard she doesnt like it. if she still doesnt tell you say ok, dresses are being ordered today and that is final! xx

She never does like attention being off her. The dress looks lovely on her. I am not stupid i would never put her in anything i didnt like on her. She has very different dress since to me she is very hippy and likes really tight mini skirts and top dresses and such. Which she works but some times i wish just for one day she wore what i put her in

she is obviously jealous hun. my sis hates dresses, pink anything girlie but hasnt moaned once about the dress i have chosen for her x

I love them dresses. The thing is she is sending me pictures of dresses that in the beganing she said she doesnt like but does now. I am not changing the dresse to suit her now. They are what they tried on they all look great in them and they where not expencive

make sure you stick to your guns, she seems to be a bit controlling x

I would sit her down and say to her look its my big day. You have no right to ruin it. I would never do that to you on your big day and you are not being fair. If you don't like the dress you don't like it. You have a choice. You either wear it or you are not a bridesmaid. When people ask me why you are not a bridesmaid I will simply tell them that you threw a hissy fit over the dress and refused point blank to wear it and they will think you are a spoilt brat. After all that is the way you are behaving. I don't care if you don't like what I'm doing for my wedding. Its my day not yours. You can have what the hell you like when you get married but the way you are acting like a spoilt little brat there is no way on this earth you will find someone who will want to marry you. Grow up and act your age and stop slagging me off behind my back cause its getting annoying. If you have something to say at least be brave enough to say it to my face.

Then go and talk to the MOH and tell her that you don't want to here anymore from her on what your sister has been saying doing.

Sounds like she needs to grow up big style. The dress looks fabulous by the way, if I was asked to be a bridesmaid I'd be more than happy to wear it. Xxx

if you arent planning on getting them till next year are you sure you will still be able to get them? every year new designs come in and it is hard to find them again. i would get them as soon as poss if i was you xx

Yeah i am having them made for me. So i have saved the pictures and i will send them to the person to be made.

IMO that's great advice from Jo. I can only echo what others have said, but at 24 years old your sister should frankly know better. I think at this point I'd have had a total patience failure and sacked her, but fair play to you that you've stuck with it. Good luck and stick to your guns!

I just would stand for it - tell her how you feel and this is what is happening... I have Bm that range from 8 - 22 it has been difficult

it is a nice dress, i would wear it no problems, when i was a bridesmaid for my sister, i wore a dress i wouldnt have chosen myself, but it was her day, what she wanted and it was special because thats what Sarah wanted me to wear.

For the evening reception, i changed my shoes and handbag to make it feel more like me...could that maybe be an option, let her choose accessories.

My sis is been my bridesmaid, and she is the only one so we chose colour and she could choose dress, but i was clear if i didnt like it she would have to compromise. She is acting a bit childish. Put your foot down, give her a bit of leeway as i suggested, but if she wont then maybe mum or a friend can help you with her?

i'd try not to stress too much - you've still got plenty of time and you've said you're not ordering it yet - you never know she might do a u-turn!! but if you're still having so much stress with her closer to the time i wouldn't think twice about telling her you not having her as a bridesmaid when she clearly doesn't appreciate it!!

I really do think you should drop her as bridesmaid, especially when things are getting so bad that you have considered calling the wedding off. She sounds like a spoilt brat and should feel honoured that you have asked her to be a bridesmaid. The dress is absolutely gorgeous, by the way!

Good for you, just make sure you stick to the deadline.
