I was going to go for real flowers, but just been discussing with the girls and decided to get silk ones instead so popped onto Ebay and got a job lot of silk calla lilies. Got a year now to practice getting them done!

I paid about £8 for 36 flowers. Sounded like a good buy.

Brilliant, I was going to use real flowers but now you have my head buzzing with ideas, I am already making a beaded bouquet for myself (but keeping it quiet incase I don't like the end result)!!

Once they come I shall let you know if they are nice enough to use. It's not like I have spent a fortune on them if they are not any good.

Thats a really good price. We're looking at getting fake anthuroums, which seem to only come in plastic but are still nice, and we're looking at around 70-80p per stem! Have fun playing and don't forget that we nosey peeps like pics and updates! :)

It was not until peeps on here mentioned about silk flowers, that I sat down with my girls and they thought yeah it would be nice if they could keep theirs, so I have enough to make my bouquet, 4 bms (they are only having about 3) and the button holes for the men. These are what I would like for the bms.

I've just purchased some ribbons for the bouquets. I have purple and light green as decided that H2B and the boys can wear green cravats etc. Going to tie the bouquets up with a twist of both colours. Whether it works or not is a different matter. LOL

I really want silk flowers for everything because I've seen real flowers look rubbish by the evening but when I mentioned it to my mother she pulled the kind of face that I'd expect to see after being poo tashed. Are people really that snobby about flowers. If it saves a heap of cash then who cares, I'd like to keep the bouquet. When I stupidly mentioned it to my Dad (coz he'd care - not!) he said any saving I make means more money behind the bar and he's happy with that. I'd love to be able to make my own bouquet as mentioned above but I don't think I have enough confidence in myself. xx

Well they came yesterday. Not as big as I was expecting but are lovely. Still got the grassy bits to come yet so once they are here will have a go at some as that will bulk it up a bit more. Then take piccies and pop them up.

I did try, but they were not fabulous, but after posting about doing them on faceyb a friend said she has done bouquets in the past including her own and if I want her to she can do them, so once she has done them I shall post them on here and once I get them off my phone I shall post my very poor attempt!

I'm having anthuriums for my flowers so mine will be plastic flowers! Not the best, but since anthuriums have a plstic sheen to them anyway, you can't really tell the difference! The orchids will be silk though :)

I just got married and loved my foam roses. I love even more the fact that I can still look at them and keep them forever.
