My H2B is organising his stag do, he wants to do the 3 peaks challenge.
However, his female cousin, who is overly fond of him, wants to go on the 3 peaks challenge too. I said No girls allowed, because it's not traditional, and also, if she did go and was invited, she would be in her element.
He goes over my head and invites her on facebook anyway (on an event) i dont think he understands why i dont want her to go.
Should i be mad or stick to my first word of NO WOMEN ALLOWED?!

Make him realise tht what u said. u meant !!!! how wud he feel if u invited a man (who was overly fond of u) on ur hen do ??? I wouldn't allow it x

i know stags dos are traditionally men only, but what do you think will happen?? she's his cousin, it's not like she's a random woman who fancies him, she's his family. something would be very wrong with both of them if anything WERE to happen

i can see how you'd feel, id b annoyed....it doesnt matter if it is a family memeber, its still a female who shows signs of liking ur h2b a little too much... put your foot down hun if it was the other way round hed prob b annoyed x
I can understand that you would be upset if you have already said No women, but I think you need to look at why you don't trust him with his own cousin? has he ever cheated or given you reason not to trust him? sorry for being nosey, just thought the root of the problem might lie else where x

How can a family member like one too much??
Honestly... So many stories about how families are mean to each other and if family members are close it's still not right.
Personally I don't like this segregation of men and women. What's the point?
It’s so great to find that one special person
you want to annoy for the rest of your life....

*of course its possible for a family member to like another (strange but it happens, cousins can marry look at queen vic n albert!) *of course theres going to be a lot of stories on here about people moaning about their families - thats normal!!!!! *if the segregation of men n women is meant towards hen and stag parties - the point is probably tradition!!!! however, each to their own i spose....

I think my h2b may have a woman going on his. I was a bit wary at first as they had a friends with benefits thing at uni - but as he pointed out, it was 10 years ago - that's a long time for them to get together if it was what either of them wanted. We actually get on really well now anyway. If the issue is that he's got a woman going on his stag do, then I don't think it's the end of the world.
If she fancies him I think I'd be a bit more uptight, but he's obviously known her a long time and nothing has happened to date, so it's not really likely to now.
The only thing I'd have an issue with him is that he's invited her without talking it through with you when he knows that you're not happy about it.
If only life could be one long tea break

I agree with upcake, you need to be able to trust him with any woman, family or not. I have been cheated on by my was best friend who was also my brother fiancée, and mother to his children, and my ex had a thing together but I trust my man now, its taken me a long time to trust anybody but family and I stayed single for that time in my life, but I believe if you don't have trust in a relationship then you have nothing.
Trust your man.......
I am also very close with my cousin, didn't go on his stag doo but it may just be that she is short of female friends rather than her wanting to get into his pants.
CommentAuthorocean
I do trust him, he has never cheated and that is not the reason why i don't want her to go on his stag do.
I don't want her to go because:
1. She is totally besotted with him, and has told his sister who in turn told me, she even said her fella was so like my H2b, thats why she loves her fella so much (staying with a man because he reminds you of your cousin is sick in my mind). 2. It would be right up her street to be the only female on the trip, and it would turn into her "stag do" not his. 3. No one would EVER hear the end of it "i went on his stag do, I'm one of the lads, i went with him every step of the way". 4. She is a manipulative so and so and can worm him round her little finger, and everyone knows so (other family). 5. She has an unnatural obsession with him being naked, when she's on her way around to our house for tea or whatever, she will always ask if he is naked or not on the phone, and if he says NO, she says - boo, bad times or something similar.
I agree with Katie - no women means no women. tough tit-ties, she can come on my hen do and her fella can go on his!
I think he doesn't really get the all male, all female stag and hen do things because he's been on hen do's before but i don't think he realises that she drag him with her ;) if u get what i mean.
Next thing, she'll wanna be best man! you watch!!

She does seem a bit weird. And I think it was unfair of him to invite her when he knew you didn't want her there. He should have explained to you he really wanted her there instead of going ahead and doing it anyway.
I think you should talk to him about why she makes you uncomfortable and you're not happy he went ahead with something you asked him not to do without talking to you about it first.

If it were me I would also stick to NO women allowed. Are you allowed men on your hen do?
If it were me and there was men coming to my hen H2B would not be impressed.

I wouldn't be happy at all! I would tell h2b that she can come on your hen if she wants to be a part of it, but not on his stag. That way you arent stopping her from having a night out to celebrate you both getting married, it will just be with the bride rather than the groom xxxx

honestly, I'd let him do what he wants. Its HIS stag party, and if he wants her there then its his choice. I don't agree with the all male/female tradition - my best friend is male and would have been coming with me on my hen (he's straight, by the way) had he not already been going with Adam on his stag. I don't mean to sound rude, that's not my intention at all, but your reaction to this issue sounds a little like jealousy to me - not that I know whether you'd have any reason to be jealous of her at all. Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear, but I just wanted to be honest xxx

My h2b has his female cousin going on his too. She was going to come on mine too but she cant afford both (we are both doing a week away!) I was unsure about this at first but she's chosen his so I've just accepted it. Maybe your h2b felt he had no choice but to invite her? Think mine did. xx

i agree with sara, no offense intended ocean, but it does sound like you are jealous of their closeness. if he wants her there, that's his choice.

I am really close to all my cousins on my dads side. There are 3 males and I can honestly say they are all gorgeous and so is my brother, because I'm biased and I love them to bits. The idea of me feeling more than familial love for any of them puts sick in my mouth. I know it's legal for cousins to marry but the thought of it gives me the heebie jeebies. My h2b works with a few women who are really blokey in attitude not looks. If he suggested any of them going on his stag do I would say absolutely no way! For me stags are for the men, hens are for the women. My best friend is a bloke but he won't be coming on my hen do, for starters he'd be trying to pull my single hens and he's pretty much tried it on with most of them.
I'm not old fashioned it's just the way I feel and I can understand why you'd have a problem with her going, especially if she's obsessed with him being naked. I think you need to talk to him about it, hopefully he's as grossed out as you by her affections.
I can't wait until 29/06/2013

It's legal for cousins to marry?!?
I thought that was just the USA - it's going round on fb atm about how stupid it is that there are more states where you can marry your cousin than your gay partner.. Xx
CommentAuthorFuture mrs mac
Hi Ocean - I think you need to sit down and talk to him properly about this as it's obviously bothering you. Either he'll put your mind at ease or ask his cousin to go on your hen do instead.x
CommentAuthorClareS
she does sound a bit of a strange one. I think the more you react to her the more she'll use it to her advantage and know she's getting to you. Talk to your h2b and tell him everything and see what he says and go from there. Also, how would he feel by men being invited on your 'hen-do'
CommentAuthorx~Hails~x
Hmmm I do think this besotted thing she seems to have going is a bit weird and you need to tell him that her in particular going on his stag do makes you uncomfy, weather it's his cousin or not is not the point! I do however think that's it's his stag do and he should be able to invite whoever he likes, yes shes besotted with him but he's not with her. His friends are not going to let her become the centre of attention so don't worry about that and if she tries she'll just look like a silly little girl!
I have 5 men coming on my hen do by the way, 3 are gay and the other two are two of my closest friends so I wouldnt feel right having a hen without any of them there and h2b understand's that completly!

I'd talk to your h2b about how his cousin makes you feel and why - but as for going on his stag do, I can't see why this is a problem really. After all, is she actually as physically fit as the males on the stag do? Will they really want her slowing them down, or will she finish up a laughing stock anyway when she can't keep up with them lol?
She does sound weird, especially with the things she comes out with. How old is she? Could there be some underlying special needs there?
I don't think you have anything to worry about though - as your h2b has probably invited her just because she's his cousin. Cousins do tend to have a platonic bond in some cases. I have one male cousin who is about a year older than me. We grew up together mainly, and we often met up with each others friends as well. When he got married, his wife was very over protective even at family gatherings if we spoke. I don't know what she was thinking as he's my first cousin lol. They've been married over 10 years now and she's come round and isn't so possessive. He's always took me to one side when I've been in a new relationship and give me 'the talk' if he liked the guy or not - and he gets on with my husband (he approved lol). I just think sometimes, especially if they've grown up together, there tends to be a bond between cousins.

She does sound a bit unhinged but the issue here I think is h2b ignoring you and inviting her. You need to have a one to one with him.
