So i originally booked a local hair stylist to do both my hair and my bms. Shes got loads of experience and her hair styles look amazing and most of all shes reliable (returns all my messages/has good feedback).

Now my friend is a hair stylist and offered to do my hair and bms hair and said shed do mine for £25 and my bms for £20 each and i thought would save me some pennies so i said id give her a go (I didnt cancel my other hairstylist just in case!)

Well she said she'd do a free trial on me and my MOH and to give her a date and we could go over hers. We arranged it then day before it got canceled by her, then re-arranged it again and had another excuse, so re-arranged it and it got canceled again as she said she twisted her ankle ......

When we eventually did have a trial my MOH's hair looked lush she done it all properly up into a side bun. But mine seemed rushed she said was just a rough idea of how would look. I had it curled and wanted it pulled up into a bun (like stacey in gavin & stacey at their wedding) the pins were all on show and were hanging out as she didnt have right ones and she didnt put a doughnut in so was flat at thr back. She said on the day we'd do it properly but i dont want to risk it.

Thing is shes not very reliable, when she cuts my hair it gets cancled last min or re-arranged, she told me last week she was defoo coming out for my hen night was going to get a outfit then days later she told me she couldnt make it knowing id paid out!

Now im worrying as shes not very reliable that on the day something will come up and she wont turn up or she'll be late!

I feel like maybe im just stressing over nothing and she wouldnt do that do me on the day but part of be thinks what if?

should i follow my gut instinct and stay with my orginal hair dresser?

I agree with everyone so far, I wouldn't risk it. You want to rule out as much chance as possible for anything going wrong on the day.

Personally, I'd stick to the original, as I don't think the stress of your friend doing your hair is worth the saving. She seems quite flakey.
If your friend is a guest on the day, then maybe let her down by saying you didn't think it was fair on her to be worrying about doing other peoples hair on the day, when she should be busy getting herself ready.

I'd stick to your original stylist.
Tell your friend you want her there as a guest and not worrying about everyone's hair.

    You could even use both.
Your stylist for you and friend for your BMs.

I would definitely stick with the original stylist. It is a lovely thing to offer to do, and yes good for saving pennies but if this is how your feeling now, you dont need it on your big day!
I would tell your friend that as much as you appreciate the offer you would much prefer her there as a guest, savher rushing around and stressing over your hair, just to enjoy herself... & then if you want a change in the evening she can step in :P

MY hairdresser is a long term family friend and we have invited her to the whole day, she even suggested during the afternoon 'gap' that we can alter my hair & change it. and she said that she went to a wedding once where someone else did the hair for the day, then later on in the afternoon she just gave it a tidy up/a freshen up as it were, so mayb you could suggest that to your friend too? x

I wouldn't risk it. I would also suggest what lula suggested - you could always have her freshen up and tidy your hair during the day if you think she'll be offended with you going with your original stylist.

I'd be a bag of nerves if mine kept cancelling on me.
