    Hi,

I originally budgeted around £200 for a present for each of my 2 adult bridesmaids. I was recently on holiday in San Francisco, and whilst in China Town, found the pearl jewellery was really cheap. I went into a shop and had two pearl bracelets made, selecting the specific type of pearls, clasps etc and found it only came to $42 (less that £30) for the two. They are lovely, plain and simple. Now, I know I put real thought into these presents, but I feel like I've been a bit mean with the cash. The girls are lovely and wouldn't really expect anything, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for non-jewllery related presents that I could get them in addition? To make it more difficult, they aren't really girly types - it was a struggle to even get them into dresses!!

Hi, the bracelets sound lovely! When i was a bm, I was given a Thank You Willow Tree figurine, something a bit different and not girly really x

The bracelets are a brilliant idea and as you said, a lot of thought has gone into them. Its just my opinion but why do you need to buy them more just because they weren't as expensive as you first thought?! Couldn't you put that money to better use elsewhere? x

How about using the extra money and treating them both to a meal on the night before the wedding? xx

They don't know how much you spent on them. How much would they cost in the UK? I buy presents in the states all the time and I have to reign in how much I buy by considering there cost in the UK. Otherwise I'd just buy too much.

As they say it's the thought that counts, they will have no idea how much the bracelets cost so don't let that be the deciding factor on whether or not to get them something else. Like one of the other ladies said, if you really want to spend more on them maybe go out one night before the wedding to say thank you. Otherwise I wouldn't bother getting them anything else, I'm sure they'll be delighted with what you'vbe got them already

Doesnt matter how much or little something costs, it is definitely the thought that counts! And anyways, they won't expect you to have got them anything, so the fact you've found it at such a lower price is great in my opinion. The spare cash can be put towards something else at the wedding or if you do want to treat them, as Linzi-Jo suggested, treating them to a meal the night before, or are you buying their dresses/shoes/other accessories for the big day? Could put some towards that if really need to?

In my opinion what you have found sounds beautiful and very thoughtful and personal and that is the main thing! xx

£200 a present?! Just remember that your bm's aren't being your bm's for a present, they're doing it for you and h2b. The gift you've bought sounds so personal and thoughtful and I think that means so much more than a generic present that costs a lot x

I'm sure they will love the gift and the thought behind it.

If you really want to spend a bit extra I'd suggest an activity you could do together xx

    Thanks guys,

You've all made me feel a bit better..... I think that they wont expect anything so a personal gift like the bracelets should be good. Think that using the leftover cash for them for a meal is a great idea - we are having a church rehersal the night before the wedding and then we are staying just round the corner at a hotel so I could spoil them a little bit there maybe....

    Thanks :-)
