hi guys firstly wanna say missed u all, not been on in a few weeks the laptop went haywire and only got it back yesterday :'(.
secondly, i think iv said about the trouble iv had with my reception venue. first the original one had double booked us and we was the second couple so obviously needed to back out so found another venue and in fact this one was perfect it's only our local rugby club but it holds the amount of people we want want, let us take our own toast wine and plus only quater of a mile from the church and a travel logde so people didnt have to drive at all.
We went to see them back in january i think it was and they said it would be probably around £1500 all in might be a bit more might be a bit less (for room hire, welcome drinks, buffet, hog roast on night, desserts, etc) so we thought brillient lets take it. so we paid a deposit of £100 and the wedding organiser would send us an email with the break down of the price and with exact amount. Since then we've heard nothing, we've emailed her, phoned her, even been down there and they say she's not in but i need to speak to the manager as they have nothing to do with it. even my friend who works there has told her to contact me and nothing.
Thing is i know its 13 months away yet but still, if they cant do it we need to know so we can try somewhere else (dont know where) or if they can we need to know the prices so we can budget.
Even h2b is getting worried about it, and for him to worry it must be big!
Should i be worried??? x

I would keep hounding them hon, it sounds odd that you've been waiting since Jan and still nothing. Keep on at them, and threaten to cancel if they cannot get back to you. There is still time to find somewhere else, but you don't want to be in that position if you can help it xxx

I dont want to. this will be the 4th wedding venue if we find somewhere else. first one closed down, second double booked and then this. maybe its all just trying to tell us something! x

aw, don't think like that!!! It will happen, you'll probably find they contact you this week and all is well. But as it is kind of an important bit to the day, I would chase them! xx
I think SelinaK is right - keep at them and give them a deadline - if they haven't got back to you by such a date you're going elsewhere. I know you don't want the hassle, can completely understand that, but maybe it's what they need, a kick up the behind to get themselves sorted??

and throw in a bit about how you'll let everyone know how they've let you down too.....grr.....

thing is this isnt the first time they've done it to me. they did it the first time with our original date but no deposit had been paid then x

Hmm, so that's two out of three strikes already...not looking good for them chicky :( I know you say you don't need the hassle of going elsewhere, but you also definitely don't need the hassle of them deciding to let you down two months before your wedding or something like that, and their track record isn't looking too good at the minute, they need to pull their socks up big time.

im thinking you should be worried hun! our wedding coordinator was a pain in the backside to get hold of but we would at least once or twice manage it, doesnt sound good at your place! maybe you should go down and demand to speak to someone immediately or you will be taking your business somewhere else? xxx

turns out i did have cause to worry. the person who booked my wedding didnt put it in the book and pocketed our deposit. aparently she's been doing it to a few people. Luckily we've got it all sorted out now and she's been sacked. got a whole new co-ordinator. no wonder no one was calling me back! x
