Ok so after our dj tried to book a meeting with us 7 days aft our wedding...we sorted that out with him.
But now our venue needs his certificates and insurances, I emailed him 3 weeks ago about it asking if he could send them to me or the venue, I have heard nothing back....I'm starting to get a bit worried, I've emailed him 3 times now and he hasn't replied.
What should I do, we have already paid him now so with holding payment isn't doable

It sounds like he doesn't have the necessary insurances, maybe?

I'd email him one more time with your concerns, and then start looking for a new DJ - there might be an explanation, but it's still shoddy not to email back.

That said, if he doesn't even know when your wedding is, I think I'd be a bit worried too..xx

The thing is, we know he has the bits and bobs needed, he did our friends wedding and we asked her if he was insured and what not....I just don't understand why he wouldn't email back, unless he has done a runner with our money

Hi raycheroo,

That is simply not good enough on the DJ's part - Any chance you could let know who you've booked via a PM or something?

Have you tried phoning, just in case your emails are going to Spam/Junk?

Also, please please please tell me you've got a signed contract from him? At least then if he has done a runner (Which I hope he hasn't!), you can submit the paperwork to Small Claims to try and get your money back.

I'd probably call him rather than email and if also do the 141 thing before you dial... My h2b is gigging a friends weddjng tomorrow and they had to produce there certs for public liability but didn't need any PAT testing ones, I would be a little concerned though.... He might on hol? XxxX

Oh goodness Rachel, I'd be a bit worried but like you say he might be on holiday. Good job you have a contract so hopefully it'll all be okay. Maybe ask a friend to try contacting him about getting a quote for a fictitious party and see if he responds to them?

Probably on holiday or snowed under...maybe he has personal problems at the mo you haven't considered and as your wedding isn't super imminent, he's not too concerned. Also, the internet can do funny thinsg with data and make it disappear in to a blackhole..sometimes goes to junk...sometimes permanently blocked... so call a few times during normal working hours!
