I know I have ages to decide but can't help but look at bridesmaid dresses already.

Our theme is yellow and purple, more yellow though. I can't decide what will look nicer, Short or long bridesmaid dresses

I could have short like this

    $_12 (2).JPG
but with a purple sash instead of the black and purple shoes

    or long like this

    $T2eC16R,!y0E9s2S6c10BRleBLk8S!~~60_12.JPG
    $T2eC16R,!y0E9s2S6c10BRleBLk8S!~~60_12.JPG
and not have purple on the outfit but have more purple in the bridesmaids bouquets

or a long yellow dress, with a purple sash, I've seen some with a sash around the waist that then goes all the way down the back of the dress

What do you guys think would look best?

That picture of the shorter one is awful... I don't like the shoes they've teamed with it which I think makes all the difference lol. But I know what you mean I love the longer one.

Going to just see which style looks nicest on my bridesmaids once they start trying dresses on I think, but will probably order them online as you can get them loads cheaper then in the bridal shops.

I do think the shorter one will look stunning with the purple accessories.... like I say it's a bad picture really as I think it will look completely different with different shoes and a sash...

I'm partial to the longer one, when are you getting married? The time of year might be better to dictate which u go for

I had this problem too - Take your maids to a bridal/bridesmaids shop and try on absolutely everything! Thats what we did, it showed me that what i originally wanted just didn't work on my girls! It also showed me that my fave colour washed them out so I got to see them in every colour under the sun and chose a complementary accent colour for the BM dresses but will still be using mint green as my colour scheme! I Didn't buy mine from a bridal shop in the end, I went for ones from Debs - was looking at bay-of-e but Debs had the most amazing dresses in the sale!

So in a nutshell my advice is to take one or all of your maids to a bridal/bridesmaid shop and have a good old day of trying everything on (even the ones you think will be hideous!) You'll get a firm idea on shades, shape and length, then order them wherever you wish!

I love the shorter one - it's what Im getting for my BM's but in cadbury purple. I actually have the dress in red and the picture doesn't do it justice at all. But like others have said, it depends what suits the bm's at the end of the day xx

Ooo good to know that you have the dress and its nice, they're fab value if they are nice :)

Getting married in august so short may look nicer.

I know at least one of them loves the idea of the short with purple shoes

I went long as it means it doesn't matter what shoes the bridesmaids wear as they will be hidden.

Shorter was my original choice.... and although my bridesmaids originally preferred longer when we had a green theme, since I changed it to yellow and purple and suggested short yellow with purple accessories they've both said they prefer the idea of short. Just hope those dresses are still available beginning of next year

I'm tempted to order one for me as well... as I love the dress.... but would that be weird as when I wore it after the wedding everyone would know I was in my bridesmaid dress lol
