I'm going to have Vow by Roger McGough, its absolutely gorgeous as a reading during the ceremony or something like that :)
I vow to honour the commitment made this day Which, unlike the flowers and the cake, Will not wither or decay. A promise, not to obey But to respond joyfully, to forgive and to console, For once incomplete, we now are whole.
I vow to bear in mind that if, at times Things seem to go from bad to worse, They also go from bad to better. The lost purse is handed in, the letter Contains wonderful news. Trains run on time, Hurricanes run out of breath, floods subside, And toast lands jam-side up.
And with this ring, my final vow: To recall, whatever the future may bring, The love I feel for you now.
I love the honeymoon moneys one :o) We haven't really thought about the readings we want yet :o/

My poem to give your groom
Your last few minutes as a single man Before you say I do remember we can We can climb mountains put in our way We can find rainbows on a cloudy day As I take the last steps of my single life I grow as a person when I become your wife You fill my heart and make me glow What's more to say than I love you so
I take you to be my best friend, my faithful partner and my one true love. I promise to encourage you & inspire you and to love you truly through good times and bad. I will forever be there to laugh with you, to lift you up when you are down and to love you unconditionally through all of our adventures in life together.

this is a reading my cousin is doing, I absolutely love it:
"Friendship: It is often said that it is love that makes the world go round. However, without doubt, it is friendship which keeps our spinning existence on an even keel. True friendship provides so many of the essentials for a happy life – it is the foundation on which to build an enduring relationship, it is the mortar which bonds us together in harmony, and it is the calm, warm protection we sometimes need when the world outside seems cold and chaotic. True friendship holds a mirror to our foibles and failings, without destroying our sense of worthiness. True friendship nurtures our hopes, supports us in our disappointments, and encourages us to grow to our best potential. This couple came together as friends, they pledge to each other not only their love but also the strength, warmth and, most importantly, the fun of true friendship."
Also, we're having this as a quote on the back of our order of service, my fella is a Physicist:
"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity."

we had this ....
Getting Married .. getting married is one of the most important things you can ever do .. this what happens
First the boy asks the girls dad if he will let him marry her, this is meant to be a surprise but the girls mum has normally found out first.
The dad always says yes specially if the boy has got lots of money.then he shakes his hand and tells hundreds of rude stories about him and the mum.
Then the mum and the girl go shopping for millions of new clothes. They get fancy hairstyles and the girl buys a dress that is much too long for her.
Just before the boy gets married his mates go out with him for a feast and they drink masses of beer and try to trick him into doing it with other ladies.
on the day you get married you have to stand up in front of all the people in the church and the vicar asks you questions to see how much you love the other person.
then you must both make some promise of love which go like this
(1) I promise this person that I will look after them for ever, specially if they get very poorly. (2) I promise this person that I will not have rude thoughts about anyone else and that I will only ever DO IT with them EVER. (3) I promise this person that I will share all my private things like secrets, money and sweets. (4) I promise that I wont ever get cross of giggle if this person whiffs in bed or goes to the lav in front of me because I love all things about this person (even if they are horrid)
when the girls comes out of the church she throws her flowers up in the air and the first person to catch them will be the next to get married.
after the marriage everyone goes to a huge party with love pie and cuddle cake and such a saucy drinking potion that they all dance and kiss and happy around until the whole place is bursting with love.
right at the end the marrieds drive off to a secret place with all their presents where they go to bed and get ready to love each other for the whole of the rest of their life.
This is one I found earlier in a list from our local registry office, its brilliant haha! Not sure I'd like to read that out loud in front of our our family and friends mind, but I love it.
Yes I’ll marry you, my dear, And here’s the reason why, So I can push you out of bed When the baby starts to cry,
And I we hear a knocking And its creepy and it’s late, I hand you the torch you see, And you investigate.
Yes I’ll marry you, my dear You may not apprehend it, But when the tumble drier goes, It’s you that has to mend it. You have to face the neighbour Should the dog attack him And if a drunkard bothers me It’s you that has to whack him.
Yes I’ll marry you You’re healthy and you’re lean My house is like a pig sty So you can help to keep it clean. That lovely little dinner Which you served by candlelight As I prefer to cook Pizzas You can cook it every night.
Its you who has to work the drill And put up the curtain track And when I’m feeling angry, Its you that get’s the flack. I do see many advantages But none of them for you So before you see the light, “I do, I do, I do, !”

I recently wrote this for my bridesmaid survival packs I'm making for the morning of the wedding (please excuse the use of the word bitty I couldn't get anything else to rhyme LOL)
This Bridesmaid Survival Kit was made just for you, So you can be cared for all the day through. A robe to relax in while getting yourself pretty, A lint roller to keep your dress from getting bitty. Jewellery to wear on this special occasion, Vodka to give you some gentle persuasion. Hair spray to keep your hair in it's place, And a nail file just in case! Tic tacs to keep your breathe minty fresh, and body spray to keep you smelling your best. Paracetamol to chase the headaches away, and a bath bomb to relax the next day!
Thank you so much for all you have done, Your support, your love, and all of the fun! I hope this kit helps you and brings you some glee, It’s just a little thanks from the bride-to-be..

Have had a few ideas for our readings so far!
I'm sure you all know The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear so I wont paste that one!
Shakespeare's Sonnet 116
Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove: O no! it is an ever-fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wandering bark, Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken. Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle's compass come: Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom. If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved. (we met studying English at university so this suits us well)
Robert Fulgham
All of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in Nursery. These are the things I learned… Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Give them to someone who feels sad. Live a balanced life. Learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day. Take a nap every afternoon. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the plastic cup? The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.
A Lovely Love Story by Edward Monkton
The fierce Dinosaur was trapped inside his cage of ice. Although it was cold he was happy in there. It was, after all, his cage.
Then along came the Lovely Other Dinosaur. The Lovely Other Dinosaur melted the Dinosaur’s cage with kind words and loving thoughts.
I like this Dinosaur thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur. Although he is fierce he is also tender and he is funny. He is also quite clever though I will not tell him this for now.
I like this Lovely Other Dinosaur, thought the Dinosaur. She is beautiful and she is different and she smells so nice. She is also a free spirit which is a quality I much admire in a dinosaur.
But he can be so distant and so peculiar at times, thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur. He is also overly fond of things. Are all dinosaurs so overly fond of things?
But her mind skips from here to there so quickly thought the Dinosaur. She is also uncommonly keen on shopping. Are all Lovely Other Dinosaurs so uncommonly keen on shopping?
I will forgive his peculiarity and his concern for things, thought the Lovely Other Dinosaur. For they are part of what makes him a richly charactered individual.
I will forgive her skipping mind and her fondness for shopping, thought the Dinosaur. For she fills our life with beautiful thoughts and wonderful surprises. Besides, I am not unkeen on shopping either.
Now the Dinosaur and the Lovely Other Dinosaur are old. Look at them. Together they stand on the hill telling each other stories and feeling the warmth of the sun on their backs.
And that, my friends, is how it is with love. Let us all be Dinosaurs and Lovely Other Dinosaurs together. For the sun is warm. And the world is a beautiful place.

I found lots of honeymoon fund poems but wasn't sure which to use, so I picked 3 and merged them,
Most importantly, we request, you come to our Wedding. To share with us our special day, and have some fun along the way.
We've lived together quite a while with all our pots and pans, And as we don't need homely gifts we've got another plan!
Our house is full of all the things a couple could require, And so a holiday away is what we most desire.
We know it's not traditional but an awful lot more fun, To have items on our wedding list to help us catch some sun!
Don't go out shopping or get yourselves stressed, Don't bankrupt yourselves, just because you're our guest.
If you want to be generous, despite what we've said, Then save all the hassle and do this instead.....
So if you'd like to give a gift and send us on our way A donation to our honeymoon would really make our day!!
Then while we're relaxing on the beach, or by the pool so blue We'll sit back and know that this is truly thanks to you!

Thank you for coming to share our special day with us, And for helping to create some beautiful memories to last a life time, Love, Bride & groom
'We would like to thank you for sharing this day with us and we look forward to your continued friendship throughout our married life.
We would especially like to thank our parents for all their love and support throughout the years.'
Prayer of faithful For those who may feel lost or alone, who are unfortunate enough to not have a home. for those who have been affected by the recession, for those who are sick, down and blue. we take a moment to pray for you.
Thank you we had this quote on the inside of our wedding book it's from my favourite movie the notebook.
The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that's what you've given me (The Notebook, Nicholas Sparks)
Poem for bm..... here's a miracle of friendship that dwells within the heart and you don't know how it happens or where it gets to start but the happiness it brings you always brings a special lift and you realise that friendship is life's most precious gift
How lucky to have a flower girl, who's so cute in every way. Someone who knows how to walk down the aisle, and steal everyones's heart away. As our Niece you will always be special, we love you more than words can say. So thank you for being out Flower Girl on this our wedding day.
To My Bridemaid This poem is a gift to say How dear you are to me, And offer you my heartfelt thanks For being there for me.
When I am walking down the aisle A very happy bride, Please know it means so much to me To have you by my side.
So, do not think that things will change Because I'll be a wife. You'll always hold a special place Of honour in my life.
My Bridesmaid And My Friend
Today I wed the one I love, And life won't be the same. But still I know you're there for me If I should call your name.
You've been the best friend you could be And always shown you cared. And I will treasure evermore Adventures we have shared.
I'm thankful I can count on you, For all the things you do. And I'm so glad that I can say, I have a friend like you.
We know not what the future holds, And we may have to part. But you will always be with me, Forever in my heart.
To My Bridesmaid
I chose you as my bridesmaid To share my Wedding Day You've been just like a sister A friend in every way.
When I look through the pictures Of My Wedding Day to see There's no one else I'd rather have Standing there with me.
Hope this are of some use to you. Best of luck and a fab Idea i must say!!!
To My Parents on my wedding day
It's hard to find the right words to tell you how I feel. I want to deeply thank you for all you've done for me. But "thank you" only begins to say what's in my heart today. I sometimes took for granted your guidance and caring ways. The sacrifices made for me may have seemed to go unnoticed. But, as I start a new chapter in my life, I want you to know that your love and support are among my most cherished memories.
Love, Bride & Grooms names and wedding date.
Poem for mother in law You are the mother I received the day I wed your son. And I just want to thank you,for all the things you’ve done. You have given me a gracious man with whom I share my life. You are his lovely mother and I his lucky wife. You used to pat his little head and now I hold his hand. You raised in love a little boy and gave to me a man. Love(your name)
To my In-Laws
You are the parents I received the day I wed your son. And I just want to thank you both , for all the things you’ve done. You have given me a gracious man with whom I share my life. You are his lovely parents and I his lucky wife. You used to pat his little head and now I hold his hand. You raised in love a little boy and gave to me a man.
"To our Parents”
Life will start afresh for Upon my wedding day But before it starts Dear Mum and Dad I want so much to say How gratefully I appreciate The things you have done for me Always I’ll remember in The years that are to be A happy home you have given me And other blessings too Love and help and kindness Much I owe to you So as I stand upon the threshold Of a life about to start I want to say I love you God bless you And thank you from my heart.
MUM
Through the years you’ve been there For all my ups and downs From friendships, boys and homework To finding wedding gowns
I want so much to thank you For all you’ve given me Your care and love and wisdom And the lasting memories
For even though i’m now grown up Dressed in silk and pearls Remember this my wedding day I’m still still your little girl...
My Walk With Dad
When I was small and we would walk, I held your big, strong hand. And when life brought me trials and tears, You said, “I understand.”
And now you walk me down the aisle To meet another man. Yet no one loves a little girl The way her daddy can.
I’ve found someone to share my life And know that you are glad. And yet a part of both of us May be a little sad.
For even when I’m old and gray Your little girl I’ll be. No matter where I go in life, Your love will go with me.
As i place my hand in yours And look into your eyes I give you all my love My best and my worst sides I give you all my happiness And all the tears I'll cry I'll give you everything i can And when I can't I'll try I hope that in return You'll do the same for me For this is the day we pledge our love For all eternity.
Dad
Since I was just a little girl I'd always count on you For comfort, love and kind support That's faithful and that's true And now that I am all grown up About to be a bride I'll have you walk me down the aisle And lean on you with pride But let me first say thank you, Dad For all that you have done Dear Daddy, you're the reason I'm The woman I've become And, though I'll start a brand new life One thing is surely true There's nothing that could ever change My special love for you.

These I Can Promise
I cannot promise you a life of sunshine; I cannot promise you riches, wealth or gold; I cannot promise you an easy pathway That leads away from change or growing old. But I can promise all my heart’s devotion; A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow. A love that’s true and ever growing; A hand to hold in your’s through each tomorrow. Mark Twain (1835 – 1910)
Chapter one of 1000
For two people this dawn brought on a magical day Now husband and wife they head on their way As a boat setting sail may their journey begin With calmest of waters, most helpful of wind And if they should stumble upon turbulent sea May it pass them unharming - leave them be.
For here are two people whom love has well bitten Here opens their book which has yet to be written As the first page unfolds and their life inks its path May it write a true story where forever love lasts Let their journey be happy till death do they part Of one thousand chapters may this be the start.

This is a poem from a Magners ad (bear with me) that I love and would like to incorporate into our day, but hubby says no
Now is a good time
When yesterday's gone and tomorrow is near, Why look for a thing when it's already here. And tell me you never once asked yourself how Some people end up in the middle of the now. Now is the beat of the feet on the floor, Now is the then we were all waiting for. It's the strike of the luck. It's the go with the flow. It's the sharing the luck with the people we know. See, a wise fool once said, Kinda out of the blue, That life is a dream That's already come true. It's less of the what and the where and the how, It's more of the you and the me and the now.
