We only had one couple to chase food wise Kel which was h2bs uncle and wife who h2b used to work for and who royally f'd him over when they were low on work by putting him on 3day weeks while leaving a non family member full time ...glad they're not coming in a way as his wife was the only vegetarian x

Hi everyone, I haven't been on this in ages so got lots of reading to do to catch up. I'm so glad my in laws aren't sticking their noses in, they're just letting us get on with it. I went to magaluf for my hen party from 7th to 9th june, was brilliant but have to do something for a home hen now & not sure what as it's a varied age group & my mil doesn't drink, maybe just lunch or dinner & whoever wants to can go out that night. I started out so organised& now I've still loads to do!

Oh and just to top today off we have received an evening RSVP back with no name on! But I have had my hen weekend nails and theyre lush x

Sounds like everyone's planning is going well. We paid for the mens suits this weekend - glad that's done! Went with grey pinstripe, very sharp! Just need to buy ties now. We're thinking of ivory ties instead of peach because I can't seem to find the right shade (that sounds so petty now but it has been driving me insane!). For the ladies talking about body wraps, I've got one booked for this Friday so will let you know how I get on x

nurse called today even more bad news his wound is that bad hes not going to be completely healed for the wedding and hes now on sick for 3 months minimum as he cant sit at a desk for 8 hrs a day!! Got most of my RSVPs back and all are coming apart from 3 so far. Im trying to make a list of what is left to do and i cant think im having a mind block

oh well i got 2 weeks to get most stuff done as the kids will soon be off for 6 weeks that also means im off work yet wont have time to do anything in those weeks so its all systems go

Ashleys neighbour is doing my hair for the wedding as a gift and i was wondering about a subtle beehive? I want it up so its not in my face, when should i ask her for a trial run?

Oh no, i hope you recover quickly from it, one of mine got infected when i had it taken out, it was so grim :/ when you have that last one out, i think id ask for antibiotics just in case..... i had zero swelling though so hopefully you will be fine!!!

We paid our chair covers off the other day, pretty much done now. just waiting on the venue getting back to me about extras. hiring the train, the extra guests that will need feeding (luckily that's gone down from 20 to 5!!!!!!!! interfering mother in laws!!!)

still havent sorted a cake design either, though i have had a bit of a scribble which is more idea than ive had the past 2 years at least...!

Yes we're stressing a bit too, 6 weeks time the food bill is due and still got to save around £2.5 k for that and that's without any little costs coming up alongside normal household expenses x

Father in law said we could borrow some money off him if need be but they already gave us £2k then gave us another £1k when we was struggling, just even though it's family don't want to have to be paying back money we borrow the first 6 months or so of married life! Feel we should try our hardest first, don't think h2b is trying hard enough and he lives at his mums rent free so really don't know what he's been spending all his money on recently ... Considering he takes home £1450 from his day Job a month and then about another £500-700 from his firefighter role x

his parents offered us a couple of grand on top of what we have had, they paid the photog, my mum gave us £1500 as well... but we said no, after it all kicked off, as we didnt want to be indebted to them.... pretty much just cutting off our noses to spite our faces. we can cope, but we will just have a few things to pay off after the wedding, but once its out of the way, it will be easier as we wont have anything to actually pay for then, he was thinking of asking them for some money recently, ive told him il leave it up to him - leave me out of it lol.

we seem to fritter toms wage away, if i was in charge of it,id be MUCH more frugal. we go to tesco for a loaf and some yoghurts and end up forty quid down, and this is two days after ive just done a shop as well. He just fills the basket up, it drives me mad! im gunna have to ban him from shopping!

tel you what though, if we can get through this wedding, we can get through anything hahahahaha

we got our numbers down... well I did on my sodding side because his mum invited everyone! nightmare! managed to get it to 105 rather than 120 could not afford that extra 600 odd quid. she then apparently spat her dummy out because we havent asked her if she wants to invite anyone to the evening do.... tom doesnt get mad easily but hes seriously losing his cool. he told her she'd bloody well invited everyone

we also cut table wine because of the cost, i refuse to pay for peoples drinks when we have car insurance to pay lol. nearly got rid of the chair covers too, but an extra £277 on top of everything else didnt really feel that significant when the wine was gunna be about a grand, plus whatever the welcome drinks would be. we have just got them to set up a temporary bar on the station masters platform instead.

his mum actually SHOUTED at me for not having table wine as well. im a grown bloody woman and my own mother doesnt speak to me like she does. she didnt care that we have been to other weddings that havent provided table wine, its EXPECTED. on and on and on she went...weddings eh.. who'd bother!

supposed to bring families together and all she has done is make my mum disliked her immensely and she is pushing her son away and i only want to deal with her now if i have to

i dunno why it is expected in this day and age, we all know how hard it is just to live at the moment, never mind plan a wedding on top of that. Yes, we choose to get married and choose the expense, but we also get to choose what WE are paying for, shes spat her dummy out over the flower girl dresses as well, ive been tryng to sort it for the past month, but yesterday she just said go without her, as this should have been sorted months ago. never mind the fact that she had said we should wait til july/august as they might fu**ing grow. She's such a goddam hypocrite. Not my fault she's busy now until the wedding.

Or so she says, shes just being awkward. So i just said fine, and now im going tonight. I swear to god, that woman is getting on my nerves.

can i ask then how much everyone is spending on there weddings?
we've got a manor house, drinks, food, buffett, decs, balloons, photographer, disco, suits, dress, shoes, accessories, cake, favours, gifts, rings for around £6000
our cars are free as its our boss who offered them to us also the flowers are free as a family freind is making them

omg I just noticed my ticker is on weeks now instead of months!!! eeeeeeeeeeek!!

We've had parents asking about inviting friends too but said no cos we've bumped our own friends!!

What's everyone doing about including or not including gift info in the evening invites?? I'm not sure but h2b thinks we should.
