I know what you mean Vicky, my hen do is the only thing causing me stress too. Same things, people cancelling, saying they'd be coming now not sure but it's been booked using the numbers when they said yes!! Was supposed to be 14 of us and so far only 8 have paid anything off it :-(
Just wish people wouldn't say yes if they didn't mean it. One friend recently lost her job so I totally understand for her but two others are family and are dragging their heels!!

I've actually got somewhere with my hen do today ... I got £20 initially off everyone to begin with and ones paid £60 Had got to the point where I wasn't having one as the things I wanted to do I couldn't...well last night I just booked Newcastle! Staying 2 nights £93 each for 3xrooms of 3 Doing tiger tiger on fri night which is £15.50 each for entry,our own area,4xbottles wine and 2xlarge sharer cocktails on table with food platters Cocktail masterclass at revolution with food sat afternoon £30 Dream boys sat night £29 with food Just gotta get the activities confirmed x

Glad im not the only one lol! I said to someone today i will NEVER recommend a weekend away to anyone! If i had my time again I would just go on a night out somewhere. I have hated every minute of it. Bring on 4th July when i get to go on it and stop worrying!!

Looks like I'm not the only one with interfering in-laws then! It's really bugging me especially since they're not contributing a penny to our wedding, we are paying for everything. Sorry but no pay no say! I'm having a nightmare with my own family too as there's been a big fall out between 2 of my close relatives and I've got involved in it all, and it's looking like half of my family won't be coming to the wedding now.
On a brighter note I've paid the balance for the photographer, marquee and make-up and I'm ordering bridesmaids dresses this week! Invites are nearly finished and will be going out in the next couple of weeks too. Slowly getting there!
I'm organising my own hen do so I know I'll be going something I enjoy but struggling as I have over 20 people of all different ages and from different places and most of them are on a budget. It's soooo stressful! I'm actually tempted to not bother with one at all!

ive got my mum coming on mine and we're going tank driving hahahaha. she keeps saying shes not doing it, but shes got no choice the miserable old f4rt lol. don't, not bother, as im sure youll regret it if you don't, ive been there as well, which Is why I passed the planning over to MOH, or I wouldn't have done anything, then been gutted after the wedding was over D:
im glad its not both sets of family doing my head in, my side just keep saying 'do what you want' people should be contributing to help, not so they get a say.
I ended up taking the bm dresses I bought back, as it looked nice on my size 8 girl, but some of the others looked better on my size 16 (which the 8 also suited) she said shes happy to wear whatever mind, but I think I prefer something else too. so back to square one there lol

Aw god it sounds like we all have nightmare in laws!! Mine didn't like my fg choices and declared that she wasn't standing for it! This was ages back though and I told her straight it's nothing to do with her, we're paying so we decide!!

think im going to be saying something to my mil very nicely, she said he cant see our daughters dress, our daughters tiara, the bridesmaid dresses/shoes, i cant pick a suit with him and the one which has really annoyed me is she wants to match the bridesmaids and wear a yellow or grey dress! What colours have everyone gone for? we originally picked purple but then realised it was populor so we have now done yellow with grey/silver and thats becoming a regular clour lol Imade my own invites and sent off last week now just waiting as everything is paid off apart from registrar

We've just booked our honeymoon tonight! I'm so excited as we haven't been away since 2008! We're going to a gorgeous adults only hotel in Fuertaventura for 10 days in November! We're not telling anyone though until after the wedding as we're askng for money towards a honeymoon instead of gifts...I don't want people knowing we've already booked one!

Did a few little bits today. Emailed the names of our guests we've booked rooms at the venue for, registered for the Bangkok Airways loyalty card so we get the extra 10kg luggage allowance and emailed the jeweller we got my wedding ring from cos they gave us a voucher to get my engagement ring dipped before the wedding so it looks shiny and new
Seems funny the things we have to do still are small things - all the big stuff already done!

We went and chose the suits today, having mid grey tails, paid half today so that's another thing checked off :D wish the flower girl dresses would hurry up and arrive so I can see if they fit. Also bought some more bits and pieces for centre pieces, just need to start making it all now D:

H2b went into river island yesterday as the suits he's having have gone in the sale online and there's still 3 of them not sorted so thus are struggling with sizes now they've took their time...luckily someone on here pointed out to me the sale had started otherwise we wouldn't have known...had to request through to head office see if they will make an exception and make 3 more suits in the sizes we need as we're desperate x

Seriously how hard is it to put £13 in my account or nip it round to me! Need to pay the second half of hen do deposits tomorrow and 3ppl still owing,measly £13 each! If they don't pay tomorrow,the 3. (Which is my cousin,my sis and her mate btw)! Will be cancelled off losing the money they've already paid, do they seem bothered,DO THEY STUFF AS DO!! Why do I have to babysit everyone,I don't need this stress! If they get cancelled off,I'm gonna have to cancel the whole thing as need 6ppl on all the activities and won't have enough....soooo P i s s e d off right now!

Aw god Kel!! I'd be feeling the same!! Frustrating isn't it!? I just don't get why people say yes if they don't want to go or have any intention of paying on time!
I honestly think my hen do has been the most stressful bit of this wedding and I'm not even organising it!! Had a couple of drop outs but for very good reasons but the rest are just dragging their heels!! Train tickets go on sale for mine this weekend so we'll see what happens then. I've a feeling I'll lose some more, gone from 14 to 12, if it drops below 11 or an odd number at all there will be more per person to pay so can't really lose anyone else

Good luck on your day VickyB70 lets hope its nice weather for all of us. I been told to make invitations for a living as made the wedding ones and do kids party invites and charity ones for christmas. was originally going to butlins for my hen but all fell through as people didnt wanna pay or moaned about something so freind has very kindly said we can use there restaurant for hen then bowling for my mum as she dont drink and she loves bowling so wanted to do something with her then out in the Bay to some cocktail bars. Where are you all getting married too? I'm in Barry so going to Manor House Hotel in Sully

I hope so Vicky although tbh thats one thing ive told myself i cant control so not to panic over weather! You are obviously very creative then and its nice that you had a bit of practice before the wedding! I am in Worcestershire. Getting married in a little village outside Pershore where h2b grew up and then our reception is in Malvern. Thats nice that you've took your mum in to consideration aswell for your hen.

I've loved panning our wedding! We've been engaged nearly 6 years though and our theme and budget has changed about 8 times during the course of the planning! The hen do I'm not enjoying organising though! I've decided to stay in my home town and in the morning I'm having a half spa day with my mum and bridesmaids followed by something in the afternoon but I don't know what yet, and then a meal and drinks with everyone (there are about 20 people on my list!) this way I can include mums and grandmas too :)
Very excited as I'm trying my dress on today with veils as I haven't chosen a veil yet...and we've booked our appointment with the vicar to discuss the ceremony details in a couple of weeks, followed the day after by my first hair trial and then the banns are being read for the first time the day after that! Pay day next week and we should have everything paid off and invitations will finally be sent out first week in June too :) It's all coming together!!!

Well payment deadline for my hen do was last night and everyone has paid thank the lord!! 17 of us will be hitting Cardiff in exactly 6 weeks time. Was the most stressful part of it all and im glad its all over!!!
Am meeting with my flower lady on Sunday, suits and make up trial on 31st May followed by h2b stag weekend and mine and sisters hair trial. Honeymoon to be paid off next week hopefully. Paid another chunk of the venue last week. Rings, venue dress and stationary i.e table plan, table no's, centerpieces and invitations etc nearly paid off as doing all that by monthly DD. My dress and veil and tiara have been paid off (mum did this is Jan) and bridesmaids dresses half paid and just waiting to hear they've arrived (ordered from same place as my dress and getting alterations on all dresses FOC which is a huge relief) and my little flower girl is all sorted except shoes which we will do last minute. Phew it is all coming together! So glad i started early, everyone took the mickey out of me for sorting things with 2 years to go but here i am all nice and organised!

I just bought my veil and tiara yesterday! Can't wait for them to come in next week in time for my first hair trial! I actually got a picture of me in my dress this time too which was great as they didn't let me take one before I bought it incase I went somewhere cheaper to buy it! I've got my first dress fitting on 5th Aygust! also bought my lingerie and our flowergirl's dress and bridesmaids dresses are being ordered from China next week (I have 5 to get so can't afford to pay too much...hope they turn out ok!) and invites almost finished and ready to go out at the beginning of June. The men are all wearing their own suits and some of them have all got theirs sorted but my other half isn't getting his until August as he's still working out and doesn't one to buy one too smal, haha! We bought our mums' presents from the other day too..so lots of the little jobs are getting done now. We have a few main suppliers to pay at the beginning of June and then we just need to pay off the caterer and the honeymoon off by August. It's all feeling so real now!! I can't wait! I love hearing how you're all getting on with your planning! I was so far behind you all at one point and thought I'd never catch up and get everything done but thankfully I have haha! X

It is all coming together isn't it!?! Everyone sounds at pretty similar stages of the planning now. Flowergirl dresses and shrugs arrived the other day and already have their shoes, also got them some hair accessories the other day too so they're sorted completely now. Venue has been in touch confirming room rates for all my family that are staying the night before and night of wedding - giving us the Thursday rate on the Friday too so saving £20 on all rooms. Ordered some pink ties for the men but they are the wrong shade so need to go back. Ordered 1 from somewhere else and if ok will order more. Hair trial and dress fitting booked for 2nd August!! Need to pay off honeymoon next month and order my passport in my new name!! Venue has to be paid 4 weeks before which is also when the florist will finalise what we want.
