yeah, I seen it on the news as well, been in touch with my coordinator and they don't plan on closing, but im down there on tues as well so can have a proper chat about it. I don't think it will close to be honest. I think the backlash would be a bit too much as its a typical case of London shafting the north as usual

so I've made 3 appointments for Saturday 20th July now and am waiting on one more. I've planned in which order we're going and how long it will take to get to each. Also had to make sure we had a lunch break as my MOH is like a hobbit and has to eat often!
I've made the appointment at the shop that has what I think is 'the one' last so that I will have tried on loads before it, that way I hope to know it is the one for me

I need to start looking at getting prices for flowers. I'm only getting my bouquet, bridesmaids x 4, flowergirl, corsages x 2 & buttonholes x 10 from a florist though. Centre pieces and venue decorations I'm doing myself using supermarket and wholesale flowers as we don't want anything too formal. Still dread to think what that's gong to cost on my tight budget!
CommentAuthorJoey35
Oops I mean bridesmaids x 5!
CommentAuthor*KelBel*
We're getting an initial price for my bouquet, moh bouquet, 3 corsages for the other bridesmaids, three little gypsophilia headpieces for the flower girls, 10 buttonholes and 10 centrepieces

I was in my local jewellers & I can get a plain band for me & my h2b for £200!! His ring will be stainless steel but looks the same as white gold & will be harder wearing. The ring I was looking at on the bay of e had a few wee stones on it so I'm undecided which ring I'd prefer. I always wanted a thick band of 5mm but the woman said I should get 3 or 4.

Hi Girls
How's the planning going?
We've had a change of venue since I last post - paid the deposit yesterday! We decided to have the ceremony and reception at the same venue instead of two venues. We got an excellent deal (but still more than we budgeted for originally... Oops!) it's still on the same day and time :)
So far we have; Wedding insurance - paid Venue booked - deposit paid Catering - part of venue package DJ - booked & paid Photographer - booked & paid Bridesmaid dresses - paid Centrepieces - part of venue package (fresh flowers, exactly what we wanted!) My wedding ring - paid (part of bridal set) Wedding cake - deposit paid Registrar - reserved
Still to do; H2B's wedding ring My dress, shoes & accessories Suits Wedding car Invitations (possibly hand made) Book hair & make up Guest book Photobooth (not fully decided if we want one or not) Favours & thank you gifts Flowers Give notice Book mini moon
We're going to try and tick off something from the list each month so we haven't got a mountain of things to do closer to the wedding.
X

I have the money to do it this year but didn't get it till after we'd started booking (redundancy pay off), we spoke about bringing it forward but decided against it. Kind of wish we were doing it this year though
Went looking at honeymoons over the weekend, think we're going for the Centara Villas in Koh Samui!

Stupid SSP as defo put a stop to my wedding planning, although back to work now so hopefully can get back at it come the end of July..... My dress will be here in 2 Weeks and need to find £320...Anyone got any easy Money making ideas will be grateful of them... The venue has confirmed they will be with the travel agent next year and prices will be out mid July onwards so we can get our accommodation and honeymoon booked :-) xx

CommentAuthorBeccyL
I de-cluttered most things when I moved to Scotland, so don't have a great deal to sell tbh.... I did crack the wedding tin open and found £100 in change so that will help, also a little left over which wouldn't go into anything to start a new tin off :-) xx

Morning everyone! Hope you are all well & planning away. I have gave all but 1 deposit and have ordered our rings. I got 1 quote of £220 for mine & £370 for h2b, both just plain white gold, nothing fancy & then I got another quote if £165 for mine & £40 for h2b! His ring is to be stainless steel, absolutely gorgeous brushed finish that he wanted & harder wearing & the one in the shop was a perfect fit! I like getting jobs done so early :)
