Seen a rather nice looking dress from a distance as i was passing time in TKM** today, on closer inspection though, the zip is bust, and it's coming away at the seams at the bottom of the zip - theres also a small mark on it on the bust.

I know I only want it because it's 50 quid haha, but I'm just wondering after it's been fixed and dry cleaned, would it still work out as such a bargain...? I dont even know what dry cleaning costs, never mind what a seamstress would want... it does look like its only the zip area that's buggered though. Can you haggle in TKMa** haha

the skirt on it was exacly what im looking for though... Im tempted to go back and try it on qwith a friend and some safety pins lol. And it was in my size. At least, i think it was, it looked small, and it said 9/10 ive never seen 9/10 sizing before, and no its not a kids dress haha, but it did say it was made in china in the label

Just wondering if its worth the risk, as its only 50 quid?

If you love it, try it on and make a note of the fabric type and ask dry cleaners for a quote on cleaning it up - I've heard some people machine washing their dresses by putting them in a duvet cover but depends how fine the material is :-)

I have been looking for seemstress today and found one who is taken a dress in at the seem moving shoulder straps all for £10 per dress looking on her website putting a new zip in an item of clothing is £6 the only worry i would have is the mark does it look like it will come out in the wash ? if it does and you like it and it fits then buy it !!!

I think I'll go back, Im off work all week... I know I was sucked in by the cost, so I might need a second opinion. I can't think what the material of the skirt is, but it kinda feels like layers of netting...?

Ooh that's a good price! Im not sure what the mark was, it wasnt very big but I noticed it straight away because of where it was... i just hope its not something like grease... i might go in with some baby wipes see if anyone notices me frantically trying to get the mark out hahaha

Oh I didnt think about covering it with something. Theres detailing on it anyway, so it shoudlnt look out of place!

watch it be gone when I go back, though i cant imagine many people wanting a ripped and stained wedding dress haha

And I would also haggle! Most shops can offer up to 20% off of damaged items, but it does make them non returnable xx

i was thinking though, maybe its so cheap because it's a bit on the knackered side... I might see what I can do lol... if the label mentions its damaged, Il point out that it doesnt say its stained too! ;D

I'm sure most places have a discount policy for damaged items but for the sake of £50 I'd take a risk and get it if you like it that much x
