I have yet to sort this out... We have paid the Deposit to hold the date etc...

But i have been told that we have to see the Registra BEFORE we get married on the day...
Is this true, and for what reason?

i really hope not as i dont want my H2B to see me in my dress.. i just wanna get there and walk down that isle...

if anyone knows then please let me know..

Generally most ministers and Registrars will meet with you before hand but SEPERATELY just to generally make sure you know where you're to be and when and also to make sure you're in the right frame of mind and are still up for it. EG imagine a bride turned up off her face on champagne and wasnt coherant?

Don't worry h2b wont see your dress, The registrar will prob see h2b when he arrives send him off into the marriage room then when you arrive have a quick chat with you then off you go :D

Ours said we could see the registrar seperately, i think they know that even though its a registry office wedding, people still want some tradition.

we are meeting in separate rooms, they make sure that the groom is well out of the way before i arrive so that he cannot see me get out of the car or anything, i was worried about the impact of being seen before walking down the aisle but it will be perfect now, so excited, our registrar is so much help, i email her my questions and she soon answers them x

yes you do have to see the registra before the ceremony,h2b will already be in the registry office and you will be taken in to a seperate room, its just to check over details to go on your marriage certificate to make sure they have it all right

Don't worry. When I called to book our registrar I was told that it is your choice whether you are seen seperately or not. You just have to inform the registrar before the day that you would like to be seen in seperate rooms before the ceremony. x x x

They've not mentioned it to us but I don't see that it would be a problem to see us separately.
We're getting married in a venue. I'm pretty sure most couples won't want to see each other before the wedding, so they'll be used to it!

we gave notice today, the registrar told us the next time she will see us will be just before the actual ceremony. they have to see you to check details, i.e. name, address, d.o.b. job etc as things can change from the day you gave notice, as the girls have said, they do this everyday so expect brides and grooms not to see each other before hand

I thought this today, when i was told we would need to give them the blue pieces of paper (which i need to collect on the 29th, assume they are the lisences?) Anyways i thought so do they see you both before then, i thought you just walked in, lol... Oh well i guess i will learn it all properly when i go and speak to them properly about the ceromony!
