Hi, just want to hear that i'm not the only one who is second guessing every decision? We are trying to get wed for £5000 and have paid for a lovely venue near us, but the thing is it doesn't look very popular for weddings as can't find any details of previous weddings there. I also can't decide whether i want a short-ish dress tea length, or a-line long gown...arrrghhh!
We are getting married 4th April 2015. xx

whats the venue (write on my wall)
Sometimes there not being alot of details on previous weddings is positive as people normaly only leave reviews etc if its negative.

looking at there website and fb page everything seems to be in order, looks nice on pictures, and they seem to have enough fayres there that the local wedding suppliers of the area have trust in them. theres one google review with 4/5stars but no text, and on there fb there is one review of someone saying : We got Married here on October 20th 2012 and It was a fantastic day everything was catered for and nothing was to much trouble the House looked Beautiful I would recommend this venue to anyone and we hope to use it again in the future .

trust in your instincts, I only know of one person that is getting married at my venue in august. and no one i know knows my venue as they all go to one of 2 places which I don't like, one big massive hotel by the sea and one horrible little pub in my town . I love my venue , little country house on edge of dartmoor and has some good reviews, no one has complained about your venue so i would not worry hun x

Good Posts! Regarding not being sure about dresses, go try on as many as you can and see what you fall in love with! xxx

I keep wondering if I should have chosen a different blue for the bridesmaids dresses, or if I should have ordered them all from the same place at the same time, despite that meaning that I couldn't have helped a friend with the finances of a custody battle and that I would have had to buy a dress for a girl that may not be allowed to attend. I know I did the right thing, but even now I still think how much better it might have looked if they were all in the same dress. I get second thoughts about some of the decisions on the guest list as well, although I know that in the long run it really won't matter.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I agree with everything Lana said!

With the dresses, just go to a few shops and try on as many as you can until you find the one! You'll know when you have it! Just enjoy yourself, pick some you like the look and feel of, and the assistant with you should be able to pick out others based on what you like :)

SLC86 I'm just like you, I second guess myself all the time and easily fall into the habit of doubting myself to the point I make myself anxious, miserable and even ill. What at one moment excited me in another just after a just a passing comment or feedback by someone else can hit me quite hard and make me feel like my choices are stupid. I've second guessed EVERYTHING from venue, dress, theme, photographers and even whether I want to get married at all and my OH picks up on it. Thankfully between him and our dog they can turn it around quickly, especially the dog, she's a gift that one.

Trust your instincts like everyone has said.

    STOP .........

you can only make decision with the information you have at hand at the time you make them.

dont tell anyone what you have done then they cant comment

Love that lala, and you're most definitely right!!

However i'm another one that has questioned our venue, worried what people will think but h2b is great, his answer is if people don't like it they don't have to come and on the plus side of that is that it will work out cheaper for us :)

The only thing I keep in my head is that it's our day and as long as me and h2b enjoy the day then that's all that matters x

You are not alone. I have been doubting my venue from the start as it is not what either of us really want but due to our budget, it is a far better option for us!

I keep telling myself that i it is the ceremony which is the most important part of the day, not the venue or food etc etc. And also, the cheaper venue means that we can really splash out on our honeymoon!

It isn't helping that the wedding co-ordinator isn't replying to my emails or providing me with the approximate costs for everything requests, but it is one year away so she probably has bigger priorities right now..

I do this all the time (in everyday life in fact not just where weddings are concerned). Since I first started planning have I changed my mind 3 times about type of dress I want. I eventually opted for a tea length but every now and then worry that I have made the wrong choice! I have done this with nearly every aspect of the wedding, is the venue good enough, is my theme naff, have I picked the right colours etc etc The majority of the time I know my decisions are sound and exactly how I should do it but it doesn't stop the doubts ;)

I am exactly the same! We have our church, reception venue and photographer booked so far, but now we are thinking of changing the venue to a place we have found that is just around the corner from the church, as the venue we booked is a little way away. It is not quite as pretty but is easier for our guests to get to, will probably be cheaper and is also right next to our flat which will make it so much easier on the day to check back on our pets.
The way I see it is that the ceremony itself if the most important part, and aside from that as long as everybody has a laugh that is all that matters as, for the most part, the things us brides will be stressing about probably won't even matter to anybody else attending the wedding!
