hey ladies, ive been thinking about this a lot and would like some advice, im not sure whether to mix the tables up or to keep it h2b family all sat together and my family all sat together. i would like to mix it up a bit but at the same time dont want to make people feel uncomfortable.

I went to a party last year Kirsty where everyone was mixed up. They had quite a few bridesmaids, so each table had a bridesmaid, a a couple from each side of the family and then friends. On the table they had a box of games to get to know each other and it really broke the ice. I actually have made a couple of good friends as a result! The evening was brilliant with people from other tables mixing and introducing their table etc so by the end of it everyone was dancing etc!
The only thing is, it could be risky and go the other way...
After a couple of drinks though, people relax and just want a good time. Hope this helps :) xx

All the weddings I've been to keep the families sat together so there is no risk of conversation running dry but I can understand why you'd want to mix them up a bit. I agree it's nice to have a BM on each table if there are enough to go around.

I've got ages to go yet but thinking when I finally come to do my table plan that I'd like the BM's, best man and two ushers scattered around the room and not all on one table so that all the guests feel they have an important member of the bridal party sat with them.

    xx

    oh yeah :-) x

tracey i agree about what you said about the conversation running dry but maybe if me and h2b do it together we can match people up who we think have something in common and i like the idea of the trivia cards on the table also if people get to know each other during the meal maybe they will feel more comfortable about getting up and dancing when the disco starts as this is something i find hard as i am incredibly self conscious.

I think it is a nice idea if you can get those with common interests sat at the same table.

You're very organised thinking about it now though, that's on my planner to start doing 5 weeks before the wedding lol. Plus you can guarantee it will change right up until 5 days before xx

The only reason we thought about it is because my h2b parents arent together and its quite a awkward situation as his stepmum is actually his god mum and his mums ex best friend so we natrally started talking about seating plans. my h2b was put off getting married for this reason but im sure we will work it out in the end..... I hope x but I am quite organised and maybe im exited and have lots of ideas in my head that I want to put into practice x

I am personally keeping families with families. My side are nothing like my h2bs side. Plus I don't see the point in mixing them up for the meal as if it's anything like any wedding I've been to the minute the meal is over everyone goes scuttling back to their own little groups/families xx
