Ok so h2bs parents are divorced, they have not spoken to each other for over 40 years!H2bs father fought and got custody of h2b at age 8 so step mother and father in law brought h2b up. H2bs step mother hates h2bs mother.Add to this that h2bs brother has been disowned by father in law and s h2b step mother-they have not spoken for over 12 years-hope i haven't lost anyone yet!

H2b loves both of his parents and his brother and wants them all at his wedding but we have already had major kick offs from brother and h2bs mother and snide remarks from step mother all jostling for pole position. It is causing us massive headaches and h2b has already said he wished that we had just eloped!.There is no way that his mum, dad, step mother and brother(brother is also best man!) can all sit together on the front pew.Now of course there are only two sides groom or bride.
How can we seat them all without upsetting anyone? Whoever sits in the row behind for example will assume that they have been slighted!
Is anyone else in this position and what are you doing???? xxx

My cousin had this issue and her mum and step-dad chose to sit on the grooms side instead with her H2B parents.... it isnt quite traditonal but doesnt matter as meant all parents were sat inline with each other so no competitiveness.

Good luck as i know how hard parents can be. We have 3 sets and thought i would face this issue too but my mum asked to sit behind my dad so i didnt have to make that choice/decision.

I know that h2b mother will want to sit next to her son (best man) and he in turn would not want to sit next to his dad so i suppose it will be h2bs dad and stepmum who will have to take the back seat .It seems unfair though as they brought up h2b really, not his mum.
The other option is that there are 3 aisles at our church,a centre aisle that i will walk up and then 2 side aisles which means there are actually 4 front rows although the third and fourth pew are far left and far right so i could put one of them there but it would feel like i had put them i a corner/out of the way! This is driving me potty!!!!!!
