Looking for a nice venue for our wedding reception possibly a hotel, anyone know any in the Leicester area that have decent prices.

Just g00gl3 g00gl3 g00gl3! You'll find a lot of venues don't advertise their prices online so it's probably worth making a shortlist of the ones you like and going to meet with them so you can discuss your requirements and budget etc. Also don't be afraid to haggle xx

H1tched is also a good resource too as a starting point. Or the local council should list approved venues on their website which might bring up places you hadn't thought of.

On that point Flossie, I emailed a lot of venues here asking for a price list and they sent it through to me so could filter that way before going to see

We only ever looked at one venue and even that was a spontaneous visit so I never experienced much of that side of it! xx

That's lucky! We had to rule so many out for prices. some of them would send them through to me and it was ridiculous process for the venue compared to others which is why for us it was a good thing to get the prices before hand rather than waste time going to see a million to get lumped with a massive price after we had fell in love with it.

Yeah, we considered and quickly rejected a lot of places near us due to their eyepopping prices once I asked for quotes via e-mail. Can't believe how some can ask so much tbh but people pay it so *shrug*

I've booked U1135th0rp3 C0urt and the prices there were reasonable depending on what time of year you are looking at.

My OH was best man at a wedding a few years ago at a wonderful stately place in Leicestershire and it was run by the local Council - the strange thing was, I didn't know my OH then and it was the same venue that we use to go to on a School camping trip. It's stunning and apparently really reasonable. I will try and remember the name and send you a separate message.

My friend got married 2 years ago at a nice place S%%ar3by B4Th, which was very nice and reasonable. NOT a hotel but was a 20min drive to the one we stayed at.
