    Hi There!

Just starting to try an organise our wedding and h2b is Scottish whereas I am English. As we live in Scotland we will be getting married here and he and the grooms men will be wearing kilts. We would still like to incorporate something English into the theme so there is a bit of me in there! Anyone any suggestions on a good way to do this without the 2 themes majorly clashing?

    Thanks!

Hmmm well this might not sound obviously english but my man is wearing a kilt and I am having a lace dress with a lace parasol (he is scottish and I am english - even tho Ive lived up north most of my life). Or what about bowler hats for your family. Or some red and white? I'll have a wee think for you :-)

thistles and roses go together really well, there is lots of wedding stationary that incorporates both. I also found this poem which i though was lovely
    Scottish thistle, English rose
    Glorified in verse and prose,
    English lavender, Scottish heather,
Just like us, they're good together
    xx

Ooh i like the idea of the lace thing i didn't think about it being english and definitely liking the rose and thistle idea and it would tie in with the colour scheme as my h2b will be wearing the Pride of Scotland tartan so going for purple for brides maids etc!

My other half is scottish and I'm english.
He was toying with the idea of wearing his familys tartan but he didnt want to make his groomsmen wear kilts as they are not scottish tut. He's still thinking about it lol (well he has 3 years to decide lol)

Anyway, what about having an english tea party reception with tartan decoration's (chair sashs, table runners etc) and thistle's and roses as your flowers??

Have you tried sketching some yourself. We put roses and a thistle on our save the dates, h2b used photos that we had taken as inspiration, they turned out really quite well.

There may be some open/copyright free files you could use, like clip art, worth doing a search.

I'm Australian and H2B is English so I'm making a cupcake tower with little aussie flags in one half of the cupcakes and St George's cross flags in the other half!
