Me and my H2B have decided on a small wedding with just 13 guests. As this is the case we want to do it away from home somewhere picturesque where our guests don't mind spending a few days (i know its a mini break for them too).
We have narrowed it down to Wales, Scotland and The Lakes and was wondering of anybody knows of a venue that caters for such a small wedding? We have decided to do it mid week as there is a higher chance of being catered for.
Thanks x

Have you looked at Gretna?

I'm a Scotttish bride to be and stumbled upon some amaazing venues for small groups when I was looking, actually made me slightly jealous of people having intimate weddings, my family is just huge!! Give me an hour or so and I'll try and find some of them up here to you can focus on down south! x

Have you been to any of those three places before? If so, I would always say to go for the one you haven't been to so it a new experience - and it gives you a great excuse to go back the year after!!!

Hey Future Mrs Mac - we looked at Gretna but decided it wasn't for us
FitchMcCombe - thanks! any help would be much appreciated :-)
Crawfy88 - We have been to all 3. We are going to scotland for a week in November and will look at venues and hope to spend a day or 2 in Wales and the lakes to have a look at venues too.
I know that once the venue is sorted i can get down to business with the rest of the wedding!!
Here's some to get you started! The Lodge on Loch Goil Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel Marlins Wynd Chirnside Hall Hotel The Howard (The Edinburgh Collection) Ardanaiseig Belladrum Estate Castle Venlaw Hotel Delgatie Castle Hoscote House Loch Ness Lodge
Hope a couple of them peak your fancy! x

No problem :) I'm sort of from all over, moved around the central belt a lot as a kid before moving to the Highlands (Nairn) for ten years, came down to Stirling for university 4years ago and thats where I currently live with my partner who I met through our course! I have to say I do feel for you, Scotland is just in my heart, think I'd feel strange marrying anywhere else! Though saying that my James is Northern Irish and I told him if he wanted to get married back there then I would do it :) x

Thats love!!
We love scotland in the winter, we always rent a lodge with a hot tub for the week and really relax :-) x

I'm getting married in the Lakes, quite a big hotel though but when I was looking I found quite a lot that cater for small weddings, and you can have the whole building for the run up and day after the wedding. Some can be very pricey though, so you might want to decide your budget before looking and falling in love with somewhere! x

I now Castell Coch is fab, it is so picturesque and it hols 20 people. Also Llansantffraed Court in Monmouthshire does small wedding not been there myself.
It depends what type of venue you are looking for, mansion, castel, hotel etc. xxx

In Swansea, Wales some beautiful wedding venues are:
* Oxwich Bay Hotel (stunning venue on a beach appeared on last nights Don't tell the Bride) * Marriott Hotel (again on a beach) * Tower's Hotel (beautiful venue)
I would have considered all of these venues if we weren't marrying abroad.
Good luck with your search.
