We started off knowing that we would have loads of money to do what we want just about. we now have to pay for my wedding dress which has added another £1200 on to the budget. so now we've got to cut money out all over!

I'm not getting my diamond wedding band just a plain one to save £400, we are going for a smaller photography budget. i don't know where else i can cut money out as i've already made my own invites and i'm making my chocolate favors i just don't know where else i can shave money off. we already have the centrepieces apart from the flowers which will be aritificial. i'm also getting my flowers done from bay of e to save money. i'm just at a loss now and its just made me feel so down !

I was planning on getting a cheaper dress but I found THE dress and fell in love. H2B's parents have offered to pay for our wedding cake and wedding car as well as the honeymoon they offered to pay for at the start of the planning ^_^ it's taken a little bit of pressure off and they are doing more for this wedding then my parents!

We have set a new budget and are going to stick to it and try and still put more money away.I'm going to save as much as I physically can to get this wedding t work. Take on a night job if I have to.

We had our engagement party 2 years ago when we got engaged but we got stuff for a house as presents, but good idea!

You don't necessarily have to buy a bridal dress, the dress I have my eye on is classed as an evening gown and is only £250

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

I'm just going to echo what the other ladies have said, I know its your day etc but I personally wouldn't spend that much on the dress if I needed to cut my budget. Mine was £580 as it was being discontinued and its beautiful, i absolutely love it, but i wouldnt have looked twice at it if it had been full price at £1100 because i just think thats too much for a dress! but then thats just me :o)

HAve you got pictures of your dress if you have ask ann how much she will make it for. As i have a alfred angelo dress and it was £700 and i cant afford that but i took a pic of it and she said she will do it for £175. Loads cheaper. It will be a tiny bit different. ie differnt beads or ebroidery sp

cut your guest list. Thats what we did when we brought the wedding forward a year. We originally had 80 during the day, and have cut it down to 50 now so we could afford to do it a year earlier. Just having immediate family, aunts and uncles and best friends. All the cousins and work colleagues are getting an evening invite only, and its being explained to them we just cant afford to have everybody during the day. They all understand.

its the sure fire way of cutting your costs dramatically as it saves on food, drink, chair covers, favours etc etc

I agree with cutting the guest list. We've had to do that too for the wedding breakfast, and although I think some of my friends were disappointed they wouldn't be there, they understand and are still invited to the service to actually see us get married - and that's the important bit!
