I would like to make mini Sandcastles with flags on as my place names.

Does anyone have a receipe for making sandclay? Or an alternative method of making them?

Not got any recipes but what about Moonsand? Its not exactly "robust" as baking sandclay but you could possibly match the colours into your colour scheme?

would it not be cheaper to make them out of clay or plaster of paris, then coat them in glue and cover them in sand???

To make air-dry clay you'll need 2 cups of clean sand. You can find the colored varieties in craft stores, or you can make your own if you want to add color to your project. You'll also need 1 cup of cornstarch, and 1 ½ cups of liquid starch used for starching fabrics. Optionally you can color the mixture with 2 tablespoons of tempera paint.

Should i know what cornstarch & liquid starch is? This is from an american site?

Also ModMummy2B - what is Moonsand?
