just booked out honeymoon for a West Coast American road trip adventure next August! Cant wait! Having done the beach all inclusive type Holiday for the last 6 years running, we decided it was time for a change for our honeymoon and have never been to the US before so really looking forward to it! would love to hear from people who have been to this part of the US and can offer any tips on where to visit. We have just booked first 3 nights hotel in SF and last 3 nights in Vegas, and a hire car, so have 12 days inbetween where we will travel down the west coast through California, stopping off at various places on the way including Santa Barbara, Bev Hills, san diego, los angeles etc etc. any tips? sooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jojo x

sounds fabulous. My BF did just this 3 months ago but started off in Vegas and went to all other places mentioned. I'll ask her for some tips as she had done it before as well. x
booked in the Planet Hollywood hotel as wanted to be quite central on the strip and expert travel advisor recommended this one for our budget, so hope its ok! x

when you get to planet hollywood you will see the Planet hollywood westgate tower ...that where we have one of the apartments ..the other is across the road in the marriot grand chateau ....
There's a beautiful place called Monteray on the coast road. Me and my family went there a few years ago and loved it. There's also a great place to go if you like wildlife, can't quite remember the exact location but its a gorgeous nature reserve, theres a bit of a trek to get to the beach but its worth it to see the wild elephant seals that live there! you're gonna have an amazing time whatever you do!

Thanks Gem, we had heard about Monteray from the travel agent who had been to that part of the us about 20 times, so we will definitely spend some time there. The wildlife place you mentioned also sounds fab, and we would love to see the seals so will get H2B onto that - he's readin up on all the guides etc. so planning our route as we speak!
