    Hay all

Full of mixed emotions at present. We had the gr8 news of our IVF beginning at the start of nxt yr which we are over the moon about however now we have decided to cut the wedding from 120 day to 75 and 200 evening to 150. We will save around £2500 by doing this and thts extra cash in case we are lucky enough to full pregnant first round. It's a good reason to cut back but upsetting too. I have a meeting at our venue on Saturday to see what can b done. Think I'm gona have a wee glass o wine to help Ma mixed emotions lol xx

its is a very good reason to cut numbers as you will deffo need the extra pennies when baby does come along
can understand you being emotional tho but aslong as you are still able to invite your main family and friends
and no matter how many poeple are there you are going to have the best day of your life am sure :-) chin up love
everything happens for a reason and all that xxxx

Our venue caters for numbers. Don't know who to cut off the list either, my mum has 7 brothers n sisters so u can imagine the size of my family. I'm sure we'll get ther thou n if we can have a baby after 3yrs of trying (4 yrs by time we get married) it will all b worth it. Jst hope we don't cut back and end up with shattered dreams of starting our family xx

It's a very good reason hun! We've cut back dramatically on everything to save money because we've got our little girl - she's more important than a fancy do! I really, really hope you get lucky - please keep us in the loop! xxx

Good point becky - you are always advised to cater for about 75% anyway x

Yeah I am catering for 60% of the evening guests purely for the fact a lot of our friends would have eaten before coming out at half seven and also I think the day guests would of only had food about 3 4 o clock ;) and I have a sweet Buffett and the cake there will be plenty ;) so I would cut on guests lol x x

it is sad, but you are right. it's the right thing to do :)

i agree with what's been said above. just invite the same people to the evening. there will be enough food to cover them all and not everyone will be able to make it

It's due to the day guests being cut tht I'm having problems. The most important people to us r invited all day however we need to get 45 names off tht list and moves thm to evening only. Therefore I'm looking at nearly 70 over Ma numbers n the evening lol. Think I'll c war the venue can do b4 I go for the str8 cut xx

We're having a 3 day event for our wedding, the night before we're meeting for a restaurant meal, with all welcome - we're prepared to pay the bill but are hoping that some relatives/friends will offer something towards drinks etc - then it's the wedding the next day, and after that it's a family only bring your own dish day to my mum's house - maybe if you had a get together the night before for say lunch or something then you wouldn't feel so bad about moving ppl to the evening list at the wedding? Cos you've all had time to catch up then...

We've had to cut back, we were having ovee 50 under 16s, so are only having family children now cos it was going to be a cjildrens party more than a wedding. You have to do wat your budget allows. Wat bout cutting numbers then either on ur 1st anniversary or when youur baby arrives have a big party then

Going for a meal the b4 wouldn't wrk cause whenever one of the girls n the family get married the night b4 the wedding the bride stays at her mums and all the female friend, aunts n other female relatives go to the house for a takeaway and drink. Think the idea of a big party a yr later or whenever we have a baby is a gr8 idea and would also give us the opportunity to celebrate the birth of our child, fingers crossed xx

we have had to cut ours right down to 40 for the ceremony and 60 for the reception as the venue doesnt hold more ppl but also to keep it in budget cos its so tight! we have 4 kids so money is always tight! lol ur baby will be there for the rest of ur life, not one night only so try not 2 feel guilty about cutting ur list down. because we have had to cut out soo many, even cousins and friends children, we have said that on our 1 year wedding anniversary we will hire a hall for cheap and invite everybody! will get all the wedding pics out and have a really good night and wont have to worry about it being too lavish either! good luck with the ivf, got my fingers crossed 4 u x

HI Becky - I thought the tradition of not seeing your H2B the night before was during sleep time, so our pre-wedding meal is at 6pm, then afterwards I guess I won't see him from 8ish till the next day! Don't think that breaks any rules! :-)
