I went to a wedding fair today. if i am honest i am more confused than i was before, i have found that all the photographers contradicted themselves and some was rude!! when we was also there we seen a lush wedding car but the person was very rude and tole me and my h2b that they were out of our price range just by looking at us, other half got angry and refused to continue looking around the fair. Half of the photographers told us we need to hurry up and book someone as September is a busy month! i think this was bleeding rude and said we want to make sure we are happy with the one we chosen, upon us saying that a photographer laughed and said we cannot be fussy and to book him! As some of you know i am looking for a photographer which isn't too expensive and it friendly, Has anyone else had trouble when they have gone to fairs? Thanks xx

i walked into a high street department store a few weeks ago aand went to enquire if the solf a particular jacket or just hired it ... the assistant stood and said to buy it would be £xxx and you wouldnt be able to afford that , i very quickly said you have no idea what i can afford and i think you shoulnt make assumptions ..... he looked very shocked that i had said that and walked away
tbh thats why I avoid the whole "wedding fare scene" their rude, I wouldnt be able to hald back and they make planning your wedding day stressful. Stick to who you want and dont fall for any them over the top ones. I have seen a few photographers online who charge £500 max. Dont let them aholes put you off xx

People are sooo rude, they should really work on their people skills, my h2b was not impressed and told the man just because we wasn't dressed really smartly doesn't mean we cannot afford the car, we will just look around and find someone more friendlier x

I was going to that show but glad i didnt - I did however go to Bristol and there was a little wedding show in debenhams - they had a photographer there who had a v reasonable starting price - I'll try rack my brains and remember who it was!
I have never had that trouble although found a few people that arent that interested - I do find the photographers can be quite aggressive there too but we already have booked ours
There are so many people out there who will tell you
what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

i must say though i did notice that they tend to give more time and freebies etc to the people who were all dressed up does my head in xx

Your lucky you didn't go Nicsquared, I think after looking at the photographers i know who i would like now, people are very rude or didn't look bothered, was disapointed with the fair 2bh, not much there, no wedding favours or table decorations x

You poor thing that's shocking!!! We went to a show at the belfry and spoke to 3 and they were all polite, you have to really like your photographer and gel with them as they are there all day and want them to bring out the best in your guests. A miserable so and so will not make people very smiley and if they are with you while you get ready you have to like them. It is an important decision you can't rush it.
Good for you complaining! No wonder you didn't want to go round any more.

Oh my god that is terrible, makes you wonder if they want trade - doesnt look it. We are going to a wedding fair tomorrow, hope its not like that - wont stand for no crap from any business no matter who they are. So sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. : )

We went to just one wedding fair when we were planning ours - and that put us off for life!!! lol
I found everyone very pushy and in your face. I finished up getting badgered into booking an appointment for a wedding dress shop - and when we got there (me, my bm and mum) she turned into the most obnoxious, rude, arrogant woman you can imagine. She snubbed my bm and when she did speak to her she was so up herself it was unbelievable. Needless to say we didn't buy from there lol.
The fashion show at the fair was hilarious as well. All the models looked far too young to be taken seriously dressed as brides lol. And most of them couldn't even walk in the high heels that they were wearing (it was like a bad case of bouncing brides lol).
I think you can plan your wedding perfectly well without visiting wedding fairs (we did lol).

I have been to a lil wedding fair here in crawley yesterday again and actually it wasnt to bad found at least a lovely jewelry stand and will get bespoke jewelry them were really friendly but guessing if u do your own business and not working for someone else than u got to be careful what your saying and how u handle your costumers/ potential buyers... found also one of the dress-shops there which i'd been to back in may andthe lady had recognized me and we got talking again and found out the dress would be probably cheaper about nearly £300 than in the other shop and she knew exactly which dress I was on about and said yeah we got that... and that sounds good again as it makes me want to visit there shop again now :) only thing was its a bit out of my way but yeah why not :) got nothing to loose

How awful for you, I've been lucky at wedding fairs we met our photographer at a wedding fair, there were quite a few, 1 guy i thought was sleazy he called to us come to me, Natalie (our photographer) was quieter and just smiled at us, we went and talked and she was exactly what we were after, just be careful and find out who owns the rights to the photo's, don't give up though.

awww thats awful =( .most wedding fairs ive been to have been fine one photograher was awful his cheapest price was £2300 and i was like wooo tad outta my price range and he was just like well your photos arnt going to be very nice then i am the best this is the best you will get and you have to pay for the best. wedding fair i went to yesterday there was a little soap stall that did bath bomb and soap wedding favours and so on me and my friend took a fancy to the fruity lip balm and he was saying how natural all the ingrediants were and how the colour we see it all from the natural fruit juice. when we got home we read the back and it they are full of artificial colours! what a con.

Aww hope your next one is a better experience xx I have been to quite a few over the past few weeks and the only thing I thought was wrong with them was there were far too many photographers and they were all really pushy - only two lots of photographers weren't and tbh they are the only ones that I am considering, just waiting for price lists and then I will make appointments with them both and see who we feel most comfortable with.

H2b and I went to Milton keynes wedding fair yesterday - my first one not sure if i will be repeating the experience as although there some lovely cars there and some of the businesses were not pushy in your face, majority seem to have their noses so stuck up their own arse they wont attract any new clients, what i dont get is if they are so busy that they dont want any clients for a while, why the hell do they pay to be there!, one stall in particular was advertising their horse and carriage business, well the carriages were more entertaining, the two representatives were sat talking to each other even as we approached them, didnt bother acknowledging us or even smile our way, nothing not a dot, so me being me I just said obviously they dont want any trade, will take my money and time elsewhere - quick as a flash the guy got up and tried to sell me his sales pitch, I told him I wasnt interested - on the grounds that he and his colleague could not be bothered to get off their arses and make an effort with potential clients. Turned on my heels and left him and his cronie openmouthed. So snooty - if it wasnt for the general public ie their clientele these businesses would be screwed. On a good note there were some very nice dresses - even if the models in them couldnt stand or walk in their heels. lol

That's absolutely disgusting hun! Who were the organisers? I would complain to them about their supplier attitudes because it is a reflection on the organisers and wouldn't go down well with them if they knew. I work at wedding fayres myself and it's shocking that they have spoken to you like that! How dare they and how rude of them to assume you can or cannot afford them!
The suppliers at that fayre are obviously choosy who they give their business to and are so far up their own ar$e I wouldn't book them even if I was desperate! the other thing depends on the time of day you went as if it was late in the day they've probably booked their quota and are not bothered if anyone else books them (usually suppliers aim for at least 3 / 4 bookings from a wedding fayre at a hotel for example - larger fayres that you pay to get into they'd be looking at between 7 - 10 bookings.)
Please don't let this experience put you off going to fayres as they can be an amazing experience if you're treated nicely.
