    Hi ladies,
just a wee rant about something many of yous can probs relate to....MONEY! I hate the things, more so now. Me and H2B have not got 1p towards our wedding because we dont make enough. He works his backside off every night and I do p/t as well as have the kids. Past few months it feels like all our money is budgetted away before its even came in. As it is he is due to get paid on friday and thats ALL spoken for! As is my money we get every week, minus £50 for shopping and his lunches. What annoys me most though is his brothers gf has just been given a FULLY FURNISHED HOUSE by the council, all paid for and everything! She doesnt work and left college where she was doing a beauty course to "go on benefits else I wont afford my house" < in her own words btw! Then my brother is expecting and his on/off gf isnt working neither is he but she gets her house paid for, their kid will be paid for when it comes and he went upto the council to get a house for himself cos the "cant live together" ! WTF?! I know times are hard but just because you are 'better off on benefits' does it really mean you should sit your backside on them instead of working? I know some people genuinely are looking for work but i am talking about the lazy so and so's who cba!

I know how u feel hun, i used to love money until all this budgeting-ive just had a job interview for my 3rd job which i start as soon as my CRB comes through. I help people access benefits and grants n it does annoy me a little that i can access so much for them but nothing for ourselves.
Just keep going and hopefully things will ease up soon xx

It furstrates the hell out of me that you can work so hard to make a nice life for yourself and other people think everything is owed to them. At least you can look round your house and the clothes on your kids back and feel proud that you were the one who provided it!
My H2B has just taken a new job where he earns quite good money but has to work long hours, annoying hours and not such nice work sometimes but he took it so we can start a family but it annoys me so much when I see how much tax he pays! You're H2B sounds like a good man and you should be proud.
BTW I am not knocking anyone who has a genuine reason for not being in work such as illness/redundancy/childcare as I can totally empathise it's just the lazy ones I can't stand! xx

I know exactly how you feel! We both work full time but nearly every penny we get is gone before we get it! We have a mortgage and a car and all the bills put together leave us with very little at the end of the month. The only way we can afford the wedding is because my man is an only child and his mum just retired so she has given us money from her retirement payment to pay for the venue. We've had to go for a venue I didnt really want at first, I've grown to like it now though. We've had to go without the Beauford car I always wanted (£300!!! no chance) and we cant afford a proffessional photographer either. We have managed to find lots of bargains though. Its very annoying that some people can sit at home and are better off than people like us who work our butts off. I hate my day job, I only do it because if I didnt we couldnt survive. If you need help on bargain ideas give us a shout

i know that feeling!! currently im on sick and it soo stupid that i am actually earning more now than i was when i was working!! the benefit system is seriously screwed!! a few years ago (before i moved out) i was at home with my mum dad and my younger brother (who has learning difficulties) and was told that to get anywhere i would have to get pregnant and get my parents to throw me out!! that was the advice given to me by the housing association that are sposed to help people!!

Its just shocking that people who work their backsides off arnt aknowledged yrt those who cba working get it all! I phoned up the tax credits recently and the lady says we arnt entitled to help with dental care etc cos my partner makes just over what is the maximum. She actually advised me to get him to CUT DOWN HIS HOURS! These are meant to be people who are enforcing working aswell! Good on us and good on our men. Atleast our kids will be brought up with a good working attitude x x

The benefits system is so flawed. They should be giving enough for people to live on, yeah- but a lot of the time people who do work end up getting less than what they would get from benefits. Which makes NO sense. I was offered a job recently that was a zero hour contract, I've had to turn it down though because the wages I'll get will be pretty much exactly the same as the benefits I receive. As much as I want to work I can't really risk being given no hours one week and having no money to pay the bills. It's ridiculous!

i know how you feel. Adam and I bought our house 18 months ago - I have never been on such a good wage and yet I'm the poorest I've ever been! Half my money every month goes into the joint account to pay the mortgage, bills and shopping. I will admit that the reason I don't have much ready money is because I have 2 standing orders set up for savings (for the wedding and just a general account) but I don't consider that to be my money as its spoken for, and the rest goes on petrol and other things I need. I hardly ever go out because I'm saving every extra penny I have for the wedding and honeymoon etc. Its frustrating :o(
On the plus side though, I've managed not to dip into my overdraft for the last 2 months in a row - I'd been stuck getting into it every month since last Xmas but have managed not to! yey :o)

oh don't get me started on folk who cba working!!!!!!!!!!

mil2b and her disgusting bf are prime examples!!! any bloody excuse to not work. if i have to hear one more time about how the 'social messed up ma munny again' i think i'll lamp her!! absolute scum, the dregs of society!!!

now, i don't class everyone that doesn't work like that, honestly!!! these people are constantly decorating their scummy houses (they have lived in different council houses for the whole 25years they have ben together), she has a 3 bed home and he has a 2 bed. THEY HAVE NO NEED FOR THAT MANY BEDROOMS!!!!

you want to hear something that'll get your back's up?? this man is going to canada next year WITH YOUR INCOME TAX PAYMENTS!!!

that man gets more money a month than my h2b, but HE also gets his rent and ctax paid for him

it really annoys me that some people choose not to work! Adam and I work blo*dy hard for our money, I'm a teacher and he works for the council doing HR - we leave for work at 7.45am, I 'finish' at 3.30 but don't get home til after 5 most days and he 'finishes' at 5 but never gets home before half 6.
My best friend used to work for DWP (Department of Work and Pensions) and he had to answer the phone calls from these people, complaining about their benefits and stuff. He said it was really really frustrating and felt like turning around and telling them to bog off and get a job!

we r in the exact same situation! all our money is spent b4 we even get it and ive been in my overdraft constantly for the past few months! my debts r slowly building up again!
we have 4 kids and my h2b works damn hard for everything we have, he also earns just over the limit to get any benefits or help with rent/council tax/dental care etc he has been dealing with toothache the past month cos we cant afford the dentist!
he works in a training centre that the jobseekers get referred to to get them back into work so he sees these lowlives everyday and it gets him down seeing how they all play the system and we r struggling!
im doing a bookkkeeping course myself so when i can get back into work i will have more chance but that costs me 60 quid a month aswell so theres a lot going out b4 it comes in!
least we can all be proud of ourselves and our men that we r what society should be like!
anyway could go on allll day!
good luck to all the brides trying to make it through the wedding plans! x

Ugh such people really annoy me! H2B is now working nights as he was made redundant last year. The got a job that was a 0 hr contract. But has now managed to get a job working nights which is much better pay. I work pt and recently started delivering catalogues (K&Co, Very etc). Did the first lot in June and just finished the second lot on Monday. Got a call today that the lady has pit me forward for the courier work which i will be starting next week (with our daughter in the car, while N gets his sleep in the day).
As they say every penny counts and its all going towards the wedding.
My mom, sis, dad & uncle have offered to help (mom buy my dress, sis buy her bm dress n my daughters fg dress, my dad pay for reception venue and sort dj, uncle to sort food for buffet) despite this we are still trying to make sure we have money to cover these ourselves as both my parents suffer with diabetes, my mom is a foster carer so i dont want to take that money tbh, & my sis is in her final yr of uni.
Either way the wedding will be paid for by HARD work and if we do have the help those people will have also worked hard to give us that money

Its so mucked up how the less hours you work the more you get! What really annoys me though is, because I had my kids at 18 and 20 (15 months inbetween them) , people would look down their noses at you like YOU are a single parent on benefits etcetc. truth is my h2b works nights and I do p/t days (cos the kids arnt in school yet)! I dont owe them an explanation . I think we have all done well for ourselves and our families and we should be proud of ourselves, of our hardworking fellas and of eachother :D x x

haha exactly! Aparantly they get a grand for going on! No wonder there is that many junkies on lol. On a serious note we know that what we do day in day out is hard work, all these other people moaning because their dole or income support is late really gets on my nerves!! Atleast the clothes on our kids backs have been bought by money that has been worked for:) go us :D xx

exactly :) happiness isnt measure by how much you have in your bank or how much you spend on your big day. happiness is selflessly giving your all to someone else (oh/kids) and not wanting anything in return. gratitude is when you open a birthday card and dont expect mney to fall out lol x x
