I was thinking of what to put on the RSVPs - way in advance as haven't even started inviations yet! - and I thought I could maybe add a third option.... You know how usually it's a case of ticking a box, either
...... and ...... will be delighted to attend... or .....regret they cannot attend...
But do you guys think it would be odd to put in a third option of ........will be able to attend the evening reception from 8pm. ?
I mean this for guests who are invited to the whole day, but might not be able to make the whole day, and still might not want to say no to the invitation. Our wedding's on a Friday so I've a feeling some people may find it tricky to get off work, but may still want to come along afterwards.
Do you think it would work or just confuse matters?

i personally think thats a great idea atleast they wont feel if they cant make the ceremony that they have to miss out on the reception too x

I thought about this after i had made my RSVPs. I suppose its not too late to change it to add it in as i havent finsished making my invites yet but then thats having to start making them again
Started losing weight last year 22/1/11 - 13 Stone 12 pounds
Lost this week 2lbs ;0)
Weighs as of 29/9/12 10 stone 12 lbs
That's a great idea. I'm more worried about them not RSVP at all as some people just think they'll be able to turn up without telling you and you have to chase them up. I was thinking about maybe putting something on the invite like Rsvp before _ _ _ _ for seating arrangements. Do you think that's ok lol
Marrying the perfect guy!
Need to Loose 3 Stone! So Far = 2 stone 5lb

Hmm, if it's going to be piles more work for you Clarabella maybe don't worry about it - don't stress yourself anyway! Kelly I know what you mean, and it could be disastrous if there are limits to guest numbers in the venue etc... I think that might be a good idea, make people realise you do actually need their response, it's not just for the fun of it that you're asking!

i hate people that dont RSVP grr so annoying when you are chasing people and feel as if you are harrassing them for an answer some people dont realise you need to know how much of everything you need to get! lol sorry for my mini rant the point i was making is that YES a date for them to contact you by sounds great x
CommentAuthormadhen
Ha! You're right though - and if you provide the wee RSVP cards and envelopes etc there's no excuse! ;)
CommentAuthorBrideInTraining
haha ill even provide them with a stamp ;) x

I personally woluldnt as then it starts to become a little complicated but if you think its a good idea and will help the guests then go fir it :)

that was my one concern - that people might forget whether they'd said yes to the full day or not! but i'm hoping it'll work out...am nowhere near invitation stage yet so will probably have changed my mind five more times by then! ;)

madhen I think thats a great idea :o) and just a word of warning, providing rsvp cards in addressed envelopes doesn't guarantee that people will reply - my neighbour hasn't even sent theirs back!!!!! grrrrr......
CommentAuthormadhen
seriously?! grr is right!

I know what you mean girls my cousin is getting married in may and she had to chase heaps of her guests! My invites are going out in july for our wedding in november and they have to RSVP by mid september! I have given them rsvp with addressed envelope, email address and website they can go on to to RSVP. I will be seriously Peed off if i have to go chasing people, especially the day guests! There is no excuse for not replying and I think it is the height of bad manners not doing so!! That goes for any invite not only wedding ones. xx
Mrs Marr 2 b!!! Can't blooming wait!!
10-11-12 can't come quick enough :)
CommentAuthormadhen
I agree - it's just a basic courtesy to reply, not a major self-sacrifice! We're not asking much...
CommentAuthorMrsSaraParry!
i had to phone my half sister to find out what she was doing, and still haven't heard from the neighbour or adam's cousin so we're just assuming they're not coming. Not chasing people, if they can't be bothered to reply, they won't be on the guest list and there will be no food for them! simples :o)

yes your right it is bad manners and not exactly graft is it! lol have you created a wedding website mrsmarr2b? id love to do that! i had a birthday party in jan i created an event on bookface and still only had 12 rsvps i was petrified on the night that only 12 people would come! luckily it was a good turn out but really annoyed me and stressed me out x

That's the way to do it Sara!! My cousin's getting married in June, Lillybaby, and they've a website. Has details about venues, timings, gift list and RSVP details. It's quite handy :)
CommentAuthorMrsMarr2B
Yeah I have done a wedding website, it was really easy to do and free as well! gives all the info that guest will need, includes gift list, directions, who's who,on the day, accomodation links and details of the venue etc. I found it great fun you can add your own little polls to it and everything. Has a guestbook that guests can put a comment in and of course the RSVP section xx
