    Oh my god

Why are pele so rude and ignorant with rsvps, do they not realise they need to send written replies. It's so rude, the first week my parents ha d a we through, like half, now we still have half and no one has replied. They have said in conversation they are coming, nut it isn't good enough, we obviously need to know for caterers , wedding favours etc. I would like to start ordering it all, but without people relying its so hard and annoying.

No people don't realise and they also dont think that you need them back right until before your rsvp date.

    But that's people for ya!

God it's so rude. My fiancés cousin is getting married exactly 1 month after us so you would think especially she would know to reply. All we had from her what a save the date, not even hotel recommendations, and hers is a 3 hour drive away, not menu choices or anything?!? Really weird.

Have you given an RSVP date? If so, wait until it's passed and then chase people. Also, if anyone else calls/mentions it, maybe say 'Oh lovely; if you could send us your RSVP card to confirm officially that'd be fab!', so they know that you want a formal RSVP from them.

However, I don't really see anything wrong with someone RSVPing over the phone; we're providing RSVP cards and stamped addressed envelopes with ours, but I'm fine with people RSVPing via phone/email if they choose; though I'll be asking them if it's a firm RSVP. I'll only get annoyed if I have to chase people for food and drink choices; that will really bug me!

I was insistent that people send back the RSVP cards we provided instead of just telling me but i have to say I don't neccisarily think it is rude. People who have never planned a wedding simply don't realise how important it is, they think it is the same to just let you know so I'd go easy on people

If you haven't reached your RSVP date yet then you might just have to be patient but once that day arrives you can start chasing people!

The people who haven't replied are all 40+ so I would think they would know to reply. X

It's normally the ones you think have it together are the ones that let you down :( If there family members could you get your mums/dads to have a subtle word?

The 40+'s will be the worst ones as when they would have married it would have been when numbers weren't needed until a week before, and invites were only sent out 6 weeks before. It was a lot quicker and easier to get married then. If it has gone past your RSVP date then just give them all a gentle nudge about sending them back either by message or phone, if they still have time then be patient, a lot will send them back closer to the latest date that they can xxx

We found people really rude our day guests werent too bad there was only 2 that hadnt RSVP'd by our cut off date but the evening guests were a total nightmare!!

I sent out reminders as they said theyd get back to me. the messages had been viewed on book of face but blanked even when i said if we hadnt heard by X date we would assume they couldnt make it unless we heard anything... Still no reply!

Same we had RSVPS by word of mouth and by commenting on my status on book of face which really wound me up!! Its not like they didnt have plenty of RSVP options We gave them my email address, postal address and our wedding website to RSVP through!

Around half my evening guests done this! Extreamly rude if you ask me!

We had a nightmare with RSVP's
I did not think I would be too bothered but it is so infuriating when people dont reply!
Still awaiting 2 RSVP's and we are over the cut off date and they have been nudged many a time!
Our day invites had a perforated, self addressed RSVP card and people still cannot get them sent back!!!

Evening invites will be going out end of this month (with it being Aug bank holiday weekend) so the RSVP stress will start all over again!
