We sent the invites out early and put an RSVP of around 11 weeks prior to the date so that we could be certain with numbers. Anyhoo, we did have to chase some up but most of them replied saying yes or no.

One couple, H2B's uncle and aunt replied saying yes they were coming and looking forward to it. We saw his Uncle on Saturday in town and he was on about how he had just booked a fantastic holiday in Eygpt for the first two weeks of October. Bearing in mind our wedding is on the 6th. I did not want to say anything at the time as hardly know him really, so after I said to H2B about it. He got in touch with his Mum (uncle from her side) and she got in touch with him last night, to which he replied saying that he was sorting out flights at that present time and the flight was not until the evening so they would make the afternoon. We get married at 3pm, so OK maybe they can make that before heading off for the flight, which seeing as we live on the IOW they need to get a boat first before getting any flights. We don't see how this is possible to do seeing as you have to be at a flight so long before hand. We have paid the venue off as well so have paid for their meals. Then H2B announced he done the same at his brother's wedding a couple of years back. Said yes, then booked a last minute holiday. We even went out of our way to go to his son's wedding in May as well.

I'm hoping we get an answer soon so that I can ask some others last minute if they would like to come seeing as it is paid for. I just cannot believe the cheek of some people though to do that.

Thats really inconsiderate, especially after saying yes, and then palm you off with some crap about booking flights for later in the evening. How rude!

It's as if he has said yes and now changed his mind but has not got the balls to say nope sorry not coming.

Just had a text from H2B who said his Mum had got in touch with them and they would like to come and think they fly out on the Sunday. Well they've only just booked the flight so surely they would know. They would confirm tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have to say I would find this extremely rude and inconsiderate of them. It does sound as if he as a bit of a habit of doing it though. Surely they must know when booking the holiday when they are going to be actually leaving it isn't as if you get a literal last minute call the day before etc.
I think I would be tempted to (un)subtly wish them a lovely holiday and say that they will be missed from your day, but you will let your 'back-ups' know that they are defo invited.. Pahahahaha.. or maybe I am just a bit mean!?!

They've only just booked the holiday and apparently last night were doing the flights so they would know what time and day they were flying out on!!! Just sounds to me like a load of smelly bull poop!

Some people are terrible with organising and dates though to be honest, my bf mixes and over books days all the time.
i mean it is probably a genuine mistake but still they could at least change the date if its so far in advance or reimburse you for the money spent

Well to say I am fuming is beyond it! I've just had a call from h2b's uncle to say they cannot change the flights so will not be coming. I've given the lady the final go ahead to print the table plan as well so cannot even juggle it about and get someone else to go.
