    Hi all,
I've now decided I'm going to keep my original theme idea and having purple, silver and white.
I've been looking at flowers and colours. I've seen some really nice purple roses. But does any one know when these are in bloom? As I really would like them for my wedding but it's 30th June 2012.

I'm not sure, don't think ive seen a purple Rose, they will be gorgeous, if noone knows on here ask your local florist, there is also flower markets that ship them in from other countries so maybe yOu could get them any time of year? X

Roses are something you can get all year around. I'm sure your florist will be able to source them for you but be aware that there are so many different varieties and shades of purple you may have a hard time choosing them.

Tea roses tend to bloom in May and June so if yours is one of them it should be just right x

if you cant get purple then get white and put food colouring in the water as this dies the petals. this is how most blue roses are done. or go for silk as silk is cheaper than fresh and then you dont need to worry about guests with hayfever

Id stay away from the "fake" blue roses which are dyed as the dye actually damages the rose and causes drooping and last thing you want is droopy roses! Any good florist knows you CAN import a specially breeded blue roses and purple roses depending how good the florists contacts are.

Failing that special floristry paint is avail to colour the roses or can be glued and glitted with blue glitter to get the sparkle in the bbouquet any others q's i have a thread with average prices for q and a as well :)

im having roses in june im having white and pink and my florist didnt even mention the fact that this might be a problem, as the others have said you can get roses all year round as they can be imported but i agree with sk8rpunkbarbie stay away from the dyed roses i did this a few times and they didnt last and you cant garantee the end colour. x

I went to a Wedding Fair a few months ago and there was a florist there that said you can get roses all year round and they do tend to try and have as many varieties in colour as possible so you should be able to get what you want. Roses seem to be very popular for bouquets, i've thought about having them too

Sounds similar to what I want, and I'm getting married June 2012 too. I don't know yet whether to have real or artificial flowers tho.
