Me & hubby both being looking at flowers for a week and their are some beautifull flowers out there but we've narrowed it down to roses or peonies .We like them both alot but can't make up our mind which one to have we dont want to mix them as i like the one flower for the whole wedding eg -bouquet's,tablecentres etc......................................... and means you all helped us out with the tables hubby said to put it on here see what everyone else thinks :) xxxx and we only want white/cream colour if that makes a difference xxxx

I love both and having both in my bouquet but I'd go for roses if I did to pick one x

Peonies are pretty expensive if i remember rightly - so for that reason alone i would say roses would be my choice. Peonies are lovely but i think with a mixed bouquet or arrangement. (just my personal opinion x )

I think I would go with roses too for the colour - I think peonies are beautiful but may look better with mixed bouquets
It would be worth looking at cost as it may make a huge difference if it is the only flower you are having

I'm having that colour scheme for my flowers and whilst I am mixing them roses are my main flower with other flowers to "pad them out" xx

My whole wedding is based on red roses because I love them so i would say roses hehehe
I do love them both tho, so i think it depends if your having real or not and your budget because the price will differ hugely!

That is a good point to make Hails. As I said I'm having mainly roses and my flowers are real and are going to not give me much change from £1000 xx

Roses, but i am having cream roses also, so i am biased. lol, the other ladies are right about the price of peonies though. go with what your gut tells you you want, only you can make that decision. so whatever the decision will be the right one. xx

toritots, yes you can have peonies! i was buying them all summer from Tesco, so they are in season then! and I am having them in November, when they are not in season. Because my florist is flying some over from New Zealand! its a bit of a risk as we cant be sure on the quality of them, but its a risk I wanted to take because I was adamant i was having peonies!

for those that want peonies but dont think they can afford them, or dont think they are in season have a look at Ranunculus. Just type it into google and hit images. They are a cross between peonies and roses, and come in loads of bright colours as well as the usual subtle colours. they are gorgeous

Ranunculus was my first choice before peonies but they seem to be a winter and cold weather flower so gave up on that since our date is in july... x

Linzi I was the same - come hell or high water I'm having peonies!!! My bouquet is predominantly pink peonies, but they're not in season when I wanted them so we've got the most amazing silk ones instead. You can't really tell they're not real so I am one VERY happy bride right now! x
