Just wondered if any of you ladies were doing a Rock the Frock or Trash the dress photoshoot after the wedding? It was something I was considering but now I have a black dress I don't think i'll bother as I feel it only works well well with white and the irony of something "pure".
I saw photos of one couple who through around those dry paint bombs all over other (like in pinks Try video at the moment).....the photos where amazing and the colours against that white dress and the wrongness of it all just made it so right!

I'd love to do this! I don't think the other half would be up for it though, or actually have the guts myself.
I love the dry colour bombs, they're so effective and make for some amazing shots! I'd just love to do this for the heck of it, with a group of friends, summer, tee-shirts, fun times :)

Could buy TWO dresses, exactly the same & have one for trashing & nobody would have to know ;) lol xx

I don't like this idea and I would hate to have to witness it, sorry but its too attention seeking. I think this craze started in America and is slowly becoming popular over here.
No matter if the dress is a cheap one or an expensive one, its the dress (or one of the dresses) that you wore when you married your true love. Why would anyone want to trash it? Its not something I would want to remember doing to it. But I suppose each to their own.
CommentAuthorTori
Dint think I could do it either would feel so wrong somehow x
CommentAuthorMrsGothBride
I agree it's each to their own and not for everybody but not sure I would say it's attention seeking, especially as most couples tend to do it just the 2 of them after the ceremony.

I saw a wedding video once where it was done in front of the guests, the bride and bridesmaids covered each other in cake and when the camera panned across to the guests some guests I could see on their faces were like what the? Lol

I've seen some great photos from these shoots but don't think I'd do it, not after spending so much money on the dress!! I can see why in some ways like when are you going to be able to wear it again but why not just do the same sort of shoot in normal clothes?! x

I've looked into this before, cos really what happens with your dress after the wedding? It just stays in the wardrobe.........However as its my mum thats paying for my dress and its a lot more that i expected her to pay - i really just dont think i could justify it! :) and who knows might have a little girl to pass my dress onto i suppose! xx
CommentAuthorLauraJo87
I actually quite like the idea....if its done in a meaningful sort of way.
A couple we know are horse mad and have stables, so they did a shoot with the horses in the stables. The idea wasn't really to wreck the dress though, they just weren't too fussed about getting it a bit mucky and torn and they got some stunning pics.
I think it's nicer to do something than just keep it for the sake of keeping it, but then I am probably the least sentimental person in the world.
I'm planning on making a patchwork bed spread out of mine and the bms dresses after the wedding - we just don't have the space to store a wedding dress.

Its hard to decide what to do with your dress after the wedding :) What a fantastic idea!
I think you could still do it with a black dress. There is some pictures on search with dressess on fire. I think it'd look really amazing :) x

My folks won't be happy paying 2 grand for a dress to get it ruined. Do like the idea of the water but won't be happening.

I've always liked the idea of having the dress used to make the christening outfit of your first born out of. I heard of some friends doing it and thought it was so sweet.Though I'm not sure I would ever be able to do it with my own dress. I love it to much to damage it!
You don't have to ruin the dress to do this. A rock the frock can be simply playing in the woods, on a park, at a fairground (that's what we're doing), or simply in a studio to capture pictures that you wouldn't have be able to do on the day.
If only life could be one long tea break
CommentAuthorMrsGothBride
Exactly OWB...the purpose is not to actually trash the dress, it's to capture unique moments (that may end up trashing the outfit!)

I really want to do one, I want a picture of me in a tree! lol. I love some of the park areas where it's almost a bit "swampy" the leaves are a dark lush green and I think my white dress would look stunning amongst them. I love rock the frock, not such a fan of trash the dress, though I have seen some amazing beach/sea sessions. I designed my own dress so I couldn't completely ruin it, but I'd love to do a session where it doesn't matter if it got a bit of dirt on it xx

I'm going to do one. Not sure what to actually do but h2b wants to do it with his suit too so it'll be a couples photoshoot thing. I've seen some amazing pics online from others x

I love the idea & the pics of the dry paint .. might have to speak to h2b about it :) I'd rather do something fun than just have it sitting in my wardrobe! xx
