Right here goes, My friend is a jewller who made my engagement ring for me. I then got her to make my wedding ring to fit aroung my engagement ring. Problem is I thought my engagement ring was to big for me so she told me to go get measured and tell her my size which I did. My wedding ring had already been made and she suggested I keep it the size I am just now as I may be hot on the day and might struggle to get ring on. I was at the beach the other day and my engagement ring fell off. Im now scared I will loose them on honeymoon in the water. I asked her to make them smaller for me but she said due to the style the stones will loosen and I cant get it made smaller now im scared im goin to loose them xx

I know my mother will kill me for suggesting this but can you take them off and wear on a chain round your neck while on honeymoon? Its supposed to be unlucky to take them off but if you turn them 3 times ANTI clockwise before and afrter you take them off put them on it should be fine.
Apart from resizing i really dont know what else to suggest babe, sorry :-(

Thats rubbish My dad used to be a jeweler and i just read this out to him He says that any stone in any ring doesnt matter! U can re-size rings around it!!!
If she wont do it then get the rings in advance and go to a diff place to get resized will only cost u about £20 for both rings x

B2b nicola think this is what im goin to do as I said i needed them to an L and a half she said thats what they are but they cant be as my engagement ring actually falls off when Im cold. She is one of my good mates and I dont think she would do it out of like badness or anything so dont know why she is saying this. Im going to go to another jeweler tmro at lunch see what they say as i thought like you said Nicola any ring can be made smaller. Hails I dont really wanna take them off and im not really a chain person so would end up needing to leave them in the safe in the room which I dont really want to do either. xx

I dont kno what im goni do went to another jewller tnite she measured me to an l and a half measured my rings which are an N. She also said due to the style of rings if I get them made smaller there is a chance the stones could fall out. Sooooooo Iv emailed my friend back telling her they have not been made to correct size and what else can I do. It looks like I risk loosing a diamond or loosing my rings :( :( :( xx
At least it is probably better having them too big than too small - in 20 years time you want one that your fingers will still fit in!
I would agree with hails about wearing it on a chain while swimming. I don't think theres anything wrong with it, I'm going to be working in a hospital when I get a job and I don't expect I'll be allowed to wear it on my hands all the time then. Maybe talk to your fiance and see how he feels?

try getting some of those ring gripper things. its a piece of clear plastic that goes round the bottom of ring and makes it smaller. i will find them and put link on your wall xx

Thank you Ohfiddles I will have a look. I really dont want to wear them on a chain as Im not a chain person I hardly ever wear one. Its not that my H2B would bother or anything I just dont want to. Anyway I have spoke to my friend again tday and she has said they will try to re size them and if the stones come loose she will just start from scratch with the rings and make them again. I will need to pay for this but she said it will not be dear. Fingers crossed. What my friend did say is when both rings are on together they are sometimes a bit tighter has anyone had this before? Im dying to get home from work tonight now to try both on to see if this is the case.xx
