I had planned to fill my passport form out tonight adn i have fallen at the first question.... Miss or Mrs?? (I'm so thick!)
I lost my first passport years ago, it ran out when i was 18 anyway....Ive not needed a passport since so have never got another one. Now i need to apply for a passport to repalce my lost on but in my married name.
I have the passport form and the form the vicar needs to fill in....but do i fill the main form out with my current details or my married details as they are the details i want on my passport??
Im sorry to ask such a stupid question but i'd rather ask you ladies before i make a fool of myself phoning the passport office!

As far as I am aware you will need to do it in your married name as that's what will be on the passport. As you say the Vicar will be signing to confirm that he will be marrying you on a certain date and at that point they may well state that the passport is not valid until that date but I always say that its always best to check before making any rash decisions otherwise you may end up with a number of forms that are all wrong somehow, personally I call call the passport office and fill it out whilst on the phone to them.
Find out who you are & do it on purpose!

If it's a new passport and it is to be used under your new details then this applies, if you apply in current details then that is what you will be stuck with.

Fill if out in your married name and get the vicar to fill Inthe form
If you have lost your Passport I think you need to report it to the police as stolen don't quote me on it though as you have to send your old passport into passport office when you apply for a new one

I didn't have a passport so applied for mine 3 months before the wedding as well. You need to fill it in in your married name, get the vicar to fill in the relevant form (he'll know which parts to fill in because they tend to do quite a lot of these). From what I remember, he keeps one part and sends/gives you the rest back for you to send in with your application form and photos.
On the back of the photos you need to get someone to verify your identity. They have to put something like 'this is a true likeness of [current name] who, after marriage will become [married name] - then they sign and date it (and they also fill in part of your application form as well).
Because it's a lot to write and sign on the back of a photo, I got the exact words from the form, and wrote it on myself - then just got the person to sign and date it, so that no mistakes were made.
Make sure you send your application pack with the check and send at the post office as well. They'll check it over and send it in one of their envelopes with a number on. It actually gets priority once it arrives at the passport office as well so should be pretty quick. I had to have an interview because it was my first passport - but it still only took about 2 to 3 weeks from posting it off to getting the passport through the post (and that was peak time in May).

by the way check any details on your flight tickets etc for honeymoon as there may be a mismatch. I booked under locker so have been advised to fly as locker and change when I get back x

Thanks for that mym - it'll be my first passport too so I'd imagine it'll be same for me.
Suz my mil2b booked our honeymoon and told the agents how my name would be spelt (incl first name as I heard her spell it out when she was on phone) and they still sent out p/work will Gill instead of Jill... grrr! That's been changed now though thankfully but what chance do you have if the agents cant get it right x

hi ladies! have a wee question which is maybe silly but I've got my passport form all filled out in my married name and my photos signed, but the part on the form that the person who is countersigning fills in - do they fill it in as my maiden name or my married name? sorry I'm really confused :( lol x
