Hi - Hope someone can help me, my wedding has been and gone and all went well. Except a problem with my dress. Wedding ceremony started at 14:00, at 13:30 when i was putting my dress on the lace for the back of the dress was missing. I had taken my dress to be pressed and when they had pressed the dress for some reason they must have removed the lace. As you can imagine i was distraught, crying. Lucky my dress had buttons over the inner corset as we had to get a shoe lace to secure the dress. Was not happy at all after spending a fortune on my dress. Anyway to cut a long story short, they cannot find the lace and i want to get a replacement one, even though i wont wear the dress again i want it to be complete incase i ever want to see. My questiom is where can i get a spare one from and want it to be a good quality on too.
Thanks in advance.:-)

Well firstly thsi should be the responsibility of the shop where you had your dress pressed. They should be seeking to recitfy their mistake! they could go straight to the designer of your dress as they may still have rolls of it. If not the only place I can think of is bombay stores in bradford. They do have a website with a few bits on there but it's nota true representation of what's int he shop. There's lods of different ones. But your first port of call should be the place that pressed the dress. see what they can do or are willing to do. x

Have you contacted the shop you purchased the dress from?

The bridal shop should have them. When. Went in to see the dressmaker recently she done my dress up and noticed the lace was slightly frayed so got a new one out for it, so would imagine they would have one.

When i bought my dress it did have the lace in the back, and the wedding dress shop where i bought it from were fab. To try and save some money i took my dress to a alteration/dry cleaners and he was great. Did a great job of altering my dress and tried it on many times with the lace so i know it was there.
I took the dress back after the wedding and he said he would find it, bear in mind it is now Sept. I kept calling and he said he had found it but was at his other shop. I had arranged to go pick dress up yesterday (eventually) and when i arrived the staff member was not there. I decided just to take the dress home, the lace is still not there.
I am going to phone him today and ask what he is going to do about the missing lace once again. If he was honest and just said he could not find it we could then discuss the options but he keeps saying he has it not had chance to pick it up. !! Really annoying.
