    Read quite a few places about the above but what is it and what's involved?
    I'm on a tight budget really and keep finding about little extras

    I hadn't heard of it until I started to look into weddi g planning and got an American how to book (the one for dummies) and it was mentioned.

    It's basically a meal around the time of the rehearsal with the parents of the bride and the wedding party, traditionally paid for by or hosted by one set of parents.

    Bit of a waste of money to have a formal one in my opinion, however it can be a good chance for your parents to get to know each other if they haven't yet met - you could always do something more informal.

    A lot of people don't even have rehearsals nowadays, particularly for civil ceremonies xx

    I'm having one but then I'm a yank lol we are gonna go to dinner after the final rehearsal and thats when we will hand out the gifts for our bridal party and parents, it's just a thank you dinner for the bridal party lol xx
