    Hiya Brides and B2B's,

I'v got a bit of a problem, I recently phoned up a registrar, local to my wedding venue ( a bit late I know but it's a long story ) Basically My fiance and I were hoping to get married somewhere between 12pm and 2pm unfortunately they only have 10.30am and 4.30pm available on our wedding date. I was just wondering are they the only registrar's I can contact? Or do I have to settle for one of those times? Thanks in advance :) x

there's only usually 1 registrars office for your area and they all work from there. I don't think you can get one from another area to come in to do it as they're only licenced for their own areas. I don't live in the same area where we are getting married so had to have all our documents checked in our area and they sent the confirmation through to the venue area. Sorry x

ClareE is right. You have to a registrar who is licensed in the area marry you and they would only be from the one registry office I'm afraid so you would have to pick between the times you have been given, or change to a different date when the times you want are available. Sorry xxx

4:30 seems to be a more popular time these days. I hear about it more, I think people like that they can cater less. But if you've already planned a wedding breakfast and photos and worry about squeezing them in, just take the 10:30 slot and think up contingencies. Even if it means lot of chilling out chatting to guests drinking tea, I can think of worse ways to spend my wedding day.

Yeah, the other ladies are right, you can only get one from your local registrar i'm afraid. Go for 4.30 - you can save a bit on your catering at least! Or would you be prepared to change the day?

I had exactly the same problem either 10am or 4pm left. It's ridiculous that there ae so few registrars available and no alternatives other than a church wedding.

I contacted nearby councils - unable to help. I did loads of research and even came across alternatives that do the day you want. Only problem is not legal!

I am gong for 4pm and quite like the time now Hun x

We nearly went for a 430pm wedding but the venue still wanted us to pay the daytime event as well, so decided to go slightly earlier at 3pm. I think many are doing the late one so that they only have to cater for one sitting instead of two.
