    Hi! *waves*
I am SO sorry if there is a thread for this somewhere, I'm sure there is, but i'm new to the forum and still getting to grips with it.
We have provisionally booked our wedding for Saturday 16th March 2013, we're having a civil ceremony. I'm calling the registry office tomorrow to find out their availability and costs, but I was wondering if someone had a quick answer for me now so I have an idea of how much we'll have to pay for them to come out to our venue to marry us. Thanks!

I believe it varies from county to county so wouldn't want to give you a bad estimate. Don't forget you will need to add the cost of giving notice to your calculations

you have to give notice to the registry office and i think it is 33.50 each. it was when we did ours anyway. you then have to pay for the registra on your wedding day and this varies in each county. if you google your town registry office it should come up with prices.

Giving notice is around £45 each. Thats where they basically take your details and make sure you are legally ok to marry and stuff. I think we're paying about £370 for our registrar to come out on the day, then theres the marriage certificates £3.50 each if you order them before the day, there after they can go up to about £9.50 I believe x

hiya, i know in our county it is £33.50 each to give notice- this is where they put it up in the registry office so people can object, A reservation fee of £25 to keep your date free and the civil ceremony costs £345, so it isnt cheap about £437 to add on top of the venue cost x

Firstly it will cost £33.50 each to give notice, our local registry office charge £43.50 for upto four people in the register office, you and h2b and two witnesses which is payable on the day. But if your having a large wedding party up to 60 people £103.50 -£153.50 depending whether its on a weekday or a weekday. If its an approved premises it could be from £243.50 mon-thurs £253.50 friday £273.50 saturday £323.50 sunday and bank holidays. Or churches £83.50 for registrar to attend church this includes the cost of the certificate. Hope this helps.

The giving notice is a set price but the price registrars charge to marry you at a venue varies massively, ours is around £400 but i think some areas charge as low as £200
It also goes up each year and you have to pay the price of your year, you cant fix it :(
They may give you this years price but it will prob go up in april

It really varies between counties. If you go on your local council website they might have a breakdown of the costs for you, I know our council website does.

We're getting married on a friday and its costing us £460ish (including giving notice) but if we wanted to get married on a saturday at 2pm (the most popular time) it would have cost us almost £700!

It varies sooo much from area to area and also other things like time and location also alter the fee.
Our registrars have charged us £457 to come out to our venue on a saturday afternoon. But remember that prices are rising by 40% as well.

we paid £20 to hold the date and time as soon as we set the date. We could only officially book date and time 12 months before so for a small fee they held it. At the 12 months stage we gave notice that cost £33.5 each. We've gone for the top package so it's costing us £400 for the registrars to come to our hotel on a saturday. It's what they call their platinum bespoke package. We're having a candle ceremony and readings, they do a hand written scroll with our readings and things on as well. They can also do an order of service but I'll be doing my own i think. x

My Giving notice of marriage was £33.50 each and for our registra was/is £355 on a saturday for her to come to our South Shields town hall venue, if i'd choosen to marry in the registry office (at the side of the town hall)it would have cos £40 or £120 depending on what room you choose! Can't beileve how much more it cost just for the registra to do it outside of registry office, evening more sickening when its about 30 steps away from your venue lol! x

We're getting married in Gretna Green, Scotland, we are paying £255 for the Registrar to marry us, £130 we paid 2 weeks ago, then we pay the remaining £125 3 months before our wedding day, then our venue cost, which we have paid when we booked it. We haven't been told anything about giving notice or the cost of it, or about paying for our certificate. Now you've all got me worried, I will have to ring the registrar up tomoro and ask about both.
